Hello I apologize if this is the wrong area for this question.
I am a New York resident. I don't keep up much on the Kratom status in my state because I've never had an issue, nor do I know much about who is elected in lower branches. If I would like to write a Pro-Kratom letter to someone in my states government, who would I send it to? Is there anything I should avoid saying in the letter? Thank you

Hi, Cori177:
Now would be a very appropriate time to write an email or call your assemblymembers and senators. To learn who needs to hear from you now -- and what to say in an easy template for an email -- visit www.americankratom.org/new_york_action_alert and follow the easy directions. New York is on the fence right now, so your emails or calls will come at a crucial time. Another way you can keep updated is the join the "New York AKA for Kratom" group on Facebook. This will keep you updated on our efforts to keep NY legal for kratom. Thanks for your interest. They are also trying to ban kratom in Suffolk County, as you'll see. Now is a good time to speak up -- BEFORE a ban is enacted. ![]()

Thank you for the info.
I followed the links you sent and sent a (I hope) brief letter to the list of senators you included, as well as a message to my areas politician on his site. For anybody else sending emails, I just wanted to mention that when I tried to send it, it bounced back because 2 of the recipients were not valid, so if anybody is using a cut-and-paste for the address list, just double check that your email doesn't bounce back, so you can manually delete the names not receiving. I use yahoo email, maybe other emails are different, but I was tired and almost didn't notice my email hadn't gone through. Thank you again

Thanks, Cori177, for taking action on this. It may be a little trouble -- and many people might think nobody reads them -- but we've seen over and over that the volume of these emails against bad laws helps. Sorry about the 2 bad email addresses, we try to weed them out, but the amount of work that the one volunteer must do is incredible. It might help to break large numbers of addresses into thirds, which is what I did on a Yahoo email platform.
After Alabama votes this week, we will again turn our focus to New York, which is a very important state. We don't want it to do over to the Dark Side, no way! ![]() ![]() |

The thing that separates us from other Kratom Forums is that we're not going to turn away members or vendors due to special interests as they do at the other popular forums. Although our main focus here is to build a Kratom Community with up to date and accurate industry information, we do allow vendor reviews and marketing in the appropriate locations. This is a place to share ideas, information and to advocate for this amazing leaf. We welcome newcomers to join and start learning today.
