Hello folks,
New to your forum. Luckily I've never used pain meds or any meds really, but I do suffer from occasional attacks of very painful sciatica. I ride horses and occasionally my back pain has kept me from doing what I love. I saw a pain specialist who injected my sciatica and prescibed Tramadol. I took one and was naseous for an hour and had no pain relief! That's when one of my friends suggested Kratom. Worked better than Tramadol or even Advil. Now, I'm a believer. Ive only taken 3 grams as needed a few times a week. Works every time. I bought Green Malay from Mitragaia, just because that's what my friend recommended

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, gloriaf!

Gotta start somewhere and that’s not a bad start at all! Dosing is right on target and the rest is just gravy. You’ll find high quality product is available through vendors listed on this website. I haven’t tried the vendor you chose. Other folks will be by to welcome you and say hello. Cool you gave kratom a try!

Welcome, please do not take Tramadol and Kratom. There have been some bad results from that combination so take care of yourself and I am so glad you have found an alternative for pain relief.

Sciatic pain can be relieved with proper stretches and exercises as well, so be sure to explore physical therapies that can help with alignment and release the compression on the nerve.

Once I got myself straightened out, the sciatic pain disappeared so I know it can work, BUT it is not a quick fix and takes a good deal of time and effort.

Welcome to the Kratom community.

Welcome to the forum.
I used use cortisone injections to manage my spinal arthritis, I did too many of them over the years and the result was only a few months of relief and risking side effects each shot. I used to get shocks of nerve pain which have nearly disappeared since I started kratom. I also do PT exercises and have a fairly aggressive anti inflammatory diet.
Ask any question here we are non judgmental and we bounce ideas around about other botanicals and random turtle talk.;)

Welcome Gloriaf,
We are glad to have you join us.
Tramadol did nothing for me either except backup the plumbing.
For me Kratom is leaps and bounds better than any of the pain killers out there. :-bd
You will find a wealth of great advice here, especially from the ladies who have already welcomed you. =D>

Never taking another Tramadol again. Yuk, what a useless medication. Habit forming too, I’ve heard. I’m sticking to the natural stuff

Yes, you really dodged a problem filled future by not trusting those tramadol. I’ve heard they’re commonly abused, but like you, I can’t imagine WHY! Awful stuff.

We discuss and discuss some more, the different colors/strains and how to get the most use of kratom by adding to grapefruit juice (if you don’t have any other medications that contraindicate a problem) and stomach empty/full stomach stuff.

Definitely don’t miss reading about suggestions for keeping the pipes from clogging if you haven’t already developed a plan to stay regular (see digestion in a SEARCH on the website). If you have trouble finding discussions on a topic, we’ll help you and Nan70 will probably provide a few helpful links!

More rascals will be by to say hello.

Welcome Gloria! You've certainly joined one of the best communities of caring individuals out there! I too have gone through multiple injections in my back only to find temporary relief. Kratom has really been a godsend for me and allows me to be an almost fully functioning person throughout the day. Keep experimenting and find what works best for you. In the meantime, we are all here to help each other along the way so don't be afraid to ask anything that might be on your mind. It's great to have you here!

Glad to be in this community.I'm lucky that I was given the prescription for Tramadol, ten years ago it would have been for Oxycontin and from what I've read, that one's very effective and very addictive. I will be looking through the forum for your recommendations and advice.
I also found that Kratom had very little sedative effect and I was able to go about my day and get everything I needed to do accomplished.
I think it may be a possible alternative to the stimulant medication that is sneaking up on America as a second wave of dependance on the pharmaceutical industry. I have an adult friend who has been prescribed Adderell. I was so surprised. Once upon a time that was a medication for school children with ADD and now it's being promoted for adults .
