Hey all - it's kind of hard to weed through a Search on here about this to find answers, so I'll just ask the question point blank:

Has anyone gotten off of nicotine with the help of Kratom?

My brother is an on-again-off-again tobacco chewer. He recently started again but wants to quit. I pointed him in the direction of Grinds - the coffee pouches that look like tobacco, but I have a feeling it's not going to help him with the nicotine cravings.

I just wanted to see if anyone had experienced releasing themselves from nicotine through Kratom. I didn't want to waste my time trying to introduce him to something that hadn't worked for anyone else.

Well, I didn’t quit nicotine but after 20 years of smokkng I swtiched to vaping, I feel like Kratom helped smooth the transition from smoking to vaping, I’m am however gearing up in the near future to stop all nicotine consumption, not good for the heart and who wants to always feed a giant pissed off gorrila all the time ??

Sorry I don’t have more than my little example which probably has no benefit to your question..

But in my opinion, I feel like Kratom would definitely help through out the process ..!!

I wish him good luck, sounds like your brother that cares

I’m in month 3 off the nicotine. I was a chain vaper. In my case, kratom May have, if anything, intensified the cravings. Probably because the habit was enjoyed with kratom like some smokers only like smoking with a glass of wine.

Kratom does help with a zillion things. But it had nothing to do with my getting off nicotine. IMO

FYI: For 2 weeks after zero nicotine, my body sweated foul odor constantly. Apparently the poison gets out through the pores? I had peri menopausal hot flashes, so the sweating could be attributed to that. But the odor was SO ODD. I had to shower twice a day!

For me, getting off nicotine was harder than kicking anything else, but the duration was not as long.

I thought I posted about it here already. Sorry if this is a repeat.

Hi Laurie and anyone else who can advise me on Gabapentin and Kratom ! I have been using Kratom for a few years and it has really helped me with a bunch of issues. Recently my pcp gave me a script for gabapentin for restless legs and very bad morning anxiety. I have tried a low dose after my morning dose of kratom and it has really helped me throughout the day with anxiety, but just wondering if this is too good to be true..I am afraid to continue for fear of ruining my help with kratom by adding gabapentin to the mix..I only take the gabapentin in morning since that is my worse time for anxiety. Thank you, I would appreciate any ideas of kratom and gabapentin. Thanks Golda55

Hi Golda55.
Regarding medication interactions, I’m only aware of gabapentin using up the receptors kratom alkaloids bind to. Same with opiates.

But. We are ALL unique and your experience is your own. I’m so glad you are able to use both.

I know another guy who found kratom helpful ON TOP OF taking opiates. So nothing is in stone. We are stuck self experimenting to see what works. The beauty in that is that it’s really safe to try this, try that WITH THE LEAF - NOT MEDICATIONS.

Sounds like you are feeling much better. No sense worrying. No knowing what the future holds, so I recommend you ENJOY TODAY and hopefully EVERY DAY. Keep posting so maybe a member or lurker will find your story helpful on their journey. And we care, so let us know how you’re doing.

GoldA55

Have you tried anything natural for anxiety?

Some people get good results with GABA.... meditation is helpful for some people too ... but usually treating anxiety requires a multitude of approaches not just one.

No, kratom and cigarettes go good together and kratom doesn't take any withdrawal away. Juul pods make you kick the habit, but you'll have a juul habit. Any thing that alters your mind goes good with a cigarette.
