Hey everybody,

Over the last 7 years this forum has grown exponentially. With your help, We have created a community of Kratom enthusiasts to come together and discuss the industry. The traffic that this site has received has been exciting but also overwhelming. All the while the site grew a little out of date. Over the last few weeks we have updated the platform of the Forum as well as the face of the forum. CHECK OUT THAT NEW LOGO!!! sweet right?!

Thanks for sharing the link. I did find it interesting that the 8 FA has been changed somewhat from the original; advocating a low scheduling as opposed to no scheduling. I don't see how a low scheduling is possible right now given that there is not an "FDA established" medical use for Kratom--that is, unless, by "low scheduling" they mean some sort of regulation as opposed to schedule IV/V.

Either way, I think this is good that the analysis was peer reviewed. It definitely gives it more legitimacy.

As I understand it now, Dr. Henningfield feels some regulation is necessary, but anything besides Schedule 1 cannot be done without there being some prior established medical use for kratom. That last sentence threw me off, too, since I was very familiar with the version the AKA submitted to the FDA last year.

As Dr. Henningfield said in the AKA's Webinar for State and federal legislators last week, kratom merely needs the same regulations that apply to all dietary supplements.
