In his State of the Union address, President Trump expressed support for a Right to Try law that would allow terminally-ill patients to test medicines not yet fully vetted by the FDA. This perspective recognizes the tradeoff between benefits and risks.

Pretty interesting. I think the only thing about Trump that I like is his stance on people and local governments taking responsibility for there own actions. Then again what he says and what he means changes when confronted with his original statements.
I am sure the nannie state supporters are gonna slam this comment.

Define "nanny-state supporters"?

Would an elderly woman who is a rabid socialist qualify?

Oh yeah , the extreme right hijacked that term to attack their opponents.
Nannie state supporters would be people who make harmless common sense things like cannabis, kratom, illegal. Wanting to have kids physiologically evaluated when they reach a teenager for an excuse to prescribe adderall and zombiefie the future generation. They want control of what you do to you body even if it effects no one else but youreself. They want the government to buy everyone a helmet and knee pads, because god forbid anyone should ever get hurt and learn a lesson. In short people who abuse institutions such as the FDA. Both sides have them and often base decisions on fear over basic logic and deductive reasoning. Or the worst, use fear to benefit only a small percentage. In general, Law/science abusers that use semantics and computer models to twist the law from it's original intention. The extreme of any side.
The core of this quote on my signature.
