hey all,
i'm just a bit confused. when measuring out, is the only accurate way to do it with a digital scale? this may sound stupid but i have read several different answers about how many grams are in a teaspon. One person said about 2, another i read said 4, and when i looked up a conversion chart, it said 4.929.
When people talk about how many grams they use to burn, how are you all measuring? I'm not looking for an absolutely precise science, I was just seeing if there was a decent way to go about it without investing in a scale, or should I just make the investment? Thanks in advance for any help.

It's because the mass of a teaspoon of powder really does vary depending on the strain and/or the grind and other factors as well. If you really want accuracy a small gram scale is the way to go, but I don't think perfect accuracy is really necessary. You can go by half teaspoons or teaspoons instead of grams and and just experiment a little to find the amount that works for you. I suggest starting on the low end, of course :)

I am with Miss Plum on this. Simply because a scale is inexpensive on Amazon, BUT, adding it to your new lifestyle routine is a bit daunting and complicated measuring when in pain or depressed is not something I am inclined to do MYSELF.

I would think that it is most always prudent to side on accuracy. As an analytical chemist by profession, I tend to love to know the amount, in milligrams or grams, of whatever I am weighing. For Kratom it is not ABSOLUTEY necessary to have like 5.955g but at least to the nearest gram though. A teaspoon is highly subjective as well. Some people just do it their own way which is great.

for plain leaf i'll just use a teaspoon but if your messing with extracts or "enhanced leaf" then you should be using a decent scale.

Eye it up to how good your feeling the go back and do another 1/2 -2 teaspoons If you take to much at 1 time your throwing your money away... I always eye my spoon full's (1/2 spoon at a time) Then go do it again as to how I feel 20 min's later.. You can weigh the total amount first then go from there to see how much you took. I haven't in over a year.

I'm a firm believer in digital measuring of kratom. I purchased a scale for less than ten dollars! Measuring is especially useful when using many different strains, as I can make a few notations of quantity burned and effects, then I'll know to use more or less the next time.

It's definitely worthwhile to purchase a cheap digital scale, so you can accurately measure your doses for future reference. After a fashion, I now can guess within a gram how much I am scooping up...but I still always weigh it to be sure.
WHEN MANY OFFER GREAT ADVICE IN A TIMELY FASHION IT MAKES FOR A GREAT COMMUNITY. WHEN IT BECOMES ABOUT A FEW WHO LIKE TO HEAR THEMSELVES TALK AND DROWN OUT EVERYONE ELSE IT'S LIKE A RADIO SHOW: ILK PRESENTS THE "MAD MAX NEVER SHUTS UP SHOW" SPONSORED BY VENDORS HERE WHO ALSO HAPPEN TO OWN THE FORUM

One of the best things I did was purchase a digital scale. It allows me to know EXACTLY how much I was taking per dose. Then if I needed a stronger aroma I went up and if I started to feel icky then I measured less. It definitely allows me to have more control over my burn and lets me know how much I am spending per dose.

I read the same things about how many grams are in a tsp. (A FEW PEOPLE DIFFERING) That's the internet, which made this new time user even more confused. But my first few times I did measure it that way. When I did finally invest in a scale I realized that the amount I thought I was taking was extremely off.

But everyone has their own way that works...And if it works for you then that's all that matters.
