I'm getting conflicting guesses about how I should handle my Independence Day on the pot before a colonoscopy, and specifically, how anesthesia and kratom go together. Is kratom an opiate agonist, as it appears to be in ONLY my metabolism? Colon AND small intestines! They will be sedating me. Please, anybody having past health issues while using kratom please share, share, share?!
I'm not concerned with being anesthetized itself, more about how to prepare prior, other than straining my tea? Is it safe to mix kratom with anesthesia? I wish I could look on WebMd, but they'd rather support pharmaceutical companies than people, in that order. No FDA guidelines have me pulling rabbits out of a hat for advice. All comments are appreciated. Or none, in which case, I'll let you know what I ended up doing.
Thanks!

Personally i dont think there has been much research with mixing kratom with any type of chemicals or medicines. I might be wrong. So personally i would suggest against it since the outcome would be unknown. :-? I would not think it would be dangerous but i personally would not try it. Especially since it is just one day to abstain from kratom. Just my opinion, with no offense meant. I would think the day prior wouldnt be a big issue if your last dose was 12 or more hours prior. But i am not suggesting this either. And would not suggest the same day. But i am not a doctor.

I know it is supposed to attatch to the opiate receptors, and thats where some of the effects come from, and i do think there are medications that do this as well and they are considered opiate agonists i beleive, and i may be using the wrong words. So if they advised against opiate agonists, I would def. not try it. hopefully someone with more knowledge could answer this better. :-bd

Thank you, Levonne. I did not mention Kratom to the colonoscopist (even pain clinics claim to have never heard of Kratom?, So, I did not try to give the colon specialist a 20 second Kratom education. LOL
I think my question is a bit vague, and yet your answers are very helpful. I am not sure if Kratom is an opiate agonist! I'm guessing it might be. Therefore, we arrived at the same conclusion-keep the goosebumps and go one lousy day without kratom. The funny part is: I worry more about my DEPRESSION and my Raynauds flaring up in the dr's operating room (or wherever he's going to scope my colon AND intestines! Also, he's not familiar with my disorder)
I think you nailed it. Suffer for overnight on the 4th until after I get home! Safety first.
My depression requires daily Kratom. It takes another 12 hours to begin helping once "burned", so I will plan accordingly to stay near my sanctuary where it's safe to suffer my depression without it affecting other people - for atleast the following day. Thank you for taking the time to answer me, Levonne!

I suffer personally from anxiety and depression, however, I do not use kratom to supplement my needs in this area. It might help, but I have found that I can control my depression and anxiety through my Lexapro 10mg prescription, Vistaril prescription (non addictive, similar to benadryl for anti anxiety relief), and through a moderate amount of daily expertise.

I would recommend 30 minutes of exercise daily, as my top recommendation to cut down on anxiety and depression symptoms, it's done wonders for me. I like to run, it gives me a feeling of being free, and I just LOVE it! But, to each his own.
