The feeling of bugs crawling in my skin

I maybe drank around 16 beers a day just to wake up a few hours later sober. If it wasn't beer it was a bottle of liquor, 3 bottles of wine, or a bottle of vodka. When I lost my job for being to hungover to even go to work I went to drinking 4 or 5 black label steel reserves a day. I was in such bad shape and killing myself. I was just praying and asking to stop. I had to drink to feel normal, to sleep, to have a good time. I was just praying for help and to scared to receive it. I went to the closest phcriatric place and went through detox and after a half way house and did a couple of months doing intensive therapy. I was only like 23 or 24. I'm 29 now.

Anytime I drank I drank until I passed out and that was everyday. I couldn't stop. I'm still a alcoholic to this day, but I don't drink anymore. I have the will power to tell myself to drink or not, but if I do choose to drink I will never have the will power to stop at just one drink. The funny thing about alcoholism is that years later it'll tell you it's okay to drink, it'll tell you you deserve it, it'll tell you that it'll only be this once.

So glad that you have figured this out! Staying off the booze definitely the right thing for you!

I am almost 3 times your age - well NOT quite!!

Thankfully I can still enjoy a glass of wine now and then BUT I simply have no desire for it.

I WISH I could say the same about black tea...still struggling with that one!

BTW...the feeling of bugs crawling under the skin...isn't that a withdrawal symptom? Does Kratom help with that?

I was getting that when I was just sleeping after a night of drinking. Idk about that, any alcohol related symptoms were way gone before kratom.

Are you aware of PAWS Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome ?

It can go on long after the initial withdrawal is over.
