Hello everyone,

I'm finally here! I don't know what I did when I registered, but I know that I messed it up. Guess I'm just not very tech-savvy.

Anyway, I'm 62, female, and a grandmother. We have 3 beautiful granddaughters and one beautiful daughter. Also I am sick. I have spinal stenosis. Right now it feels like my legs are in knots because of the pain and the sciatica that I have.

I went to the doctor last year (don't have insurance) and had a CT scan done on my lower back, which it shows the arthritis and stenosis. They wanted me to take Predisone, some kind of powerful NSAID, then some painkillers, then also find a pain clinic or whatever. Well, I used to work in a hospital and know what all these medications do to others, plus family members who suffered after being prescribed a handful of medicines. So as long as I can, I don't want any part of that.

A couple of days ago I heard about Kratom. I'm always on the lookout for something to help me. Presently I do take supplements, several of them, and I try to research for good companies and good labs.

I've been reading that several people have mentioned "the reds" are good for pain and anxiety. Someone said red borneo, red horn. I wrote to Pharmacy Dropout, but I haven't heard back yet. Maybe he's got a lot of emails to answer. Someone also mentioned a Maeng Da. I'm just not sure what to try. There's so many choices.

In the mornings I usually drink a cup or cup and a half of coffee. Can I not drink my coffee? What about tea, I also drink iced tea? I've read that you can't drink alcohol with it, but at dinnertime I usually have a glass of red wine with meals. I can leave that out if this would just help with my pain.

Thanks for listening to me.

KC :)

Hey KC77!

Welcome to the forum :-h

My name's Michael and I assist with moderation of the forum. Ask questions such as these and I guarantee you will be receiving some solid answers from the users here. If you have any questions on the functionality of the site, I'm an e-mail away. I'll go ahead and answer the questions I feel comfortable addressing, and I'll leave the rest up to everyone else.

I've never been bias to a certain color of strain to be the most pain relieving. I believe all Kratom is pain relieving, but when choosing the type that you'd like to try you should consider the other effects you'll receive. You did mention anxiety as well, I have often heard that the reds are good for this because they are calming. If you're looking for energy for your day though, the greens and the whites would be the better path to take.

Borneo's are generally one of the more basic strains, while Maeng Da's are going to be the most powerful plain leaf strains you're going to find. (Please correct me if I'm wrong :side: )

I know a lot of people replace coffee with Kratom as well, but I'm not experienced on whether or not you should or should not drink coffee while taking Kratom. I know Iced Tea would be no problem. I'll go ahead and wait to see what others think of alcohol because I'm interested. Hope I've helped your understanding in just the slightest bit! :-bd

Hi, Michael,

Thanks for all of your help. Plus helping me fix my mess-up that I created. I do appreciate this, and there is a lot to learn about this. Just goes to show that we never get too old to learn something new.

Welcome to the forum! :-h I do think that red strains are better for pain, however all strains of Kratom do work for pain. I like to drink coffee with kratom, but I'm not sure about alcohol.

Hi, Michael,

Do you know anything about Shiva Red Maeng Da that is over on Online Kratom? I'm thinking of ordering something from Pharmacy Drop-Out and something from the other place.

Thanks! :cheer:

Hey KC77,

I'd like to remain partial on the approved vendors here, but since you ask I'll throw my 2 cents in on these two.

OnlineKratom has a huge selection that's always in stock, and from what I've read, everything they push is always really high quality. I'm not a fan of red strains, but I've tried their Shiva Green Maeng Da and it was fantastic. I would say you can be confident in consistently getting good products from them.

As for Pharmacy-Dropout, Jeff knows how I feel about him and I've expressed it on here before so my bias is gone there lol. Everyone on here is always excited to get his products, and based off his killer reviews he has great customer service. So, I would also say you can be confident in placing an order with him.

Hi, Michael,

Thanks, and I plan on ordering from Jeff, too. I've already picked out what I want if he's still got it. I have to wait for hubby to get home. He likes to order from his computer, not mine. Oh, I also heard from Online Kratom a few secs ago, and they said that they'd let me try a sample of that. That was nice.

Hello KC,

Glad to have you on ILK. Hope you find some pain relief. I agree with not wanting to take the steroids and lots of NSAIDS or painkillers.

I think coffee & kratom go well together. As for alcohol & kratom, if you don't like the effects, just don't use them together. I tried it once and it made me horribly sleepy and lethargic. But everybody is different.

Best wishes-

Aimee

Hi, Aimee,

Thanks for writing. I don't really drink much coffee. I just have either a cup or cup and a half in the mornings. Sometimes not even that much. I'm a huge tea drinker, but being as I live in TX, I'm used to drinking iced tea, grew up drinking it. Well, I also drink a lot of water. For dinnertime, I usually have a glass of red wine, but I don't have to if it interferes with the kratom. Which I can't wait for it to come in. I have it ordered now. Plus I ordered a kratom book for beginners from Amazon, which is expected in on Monday.

So when I get the kratom in, also my digital scale, I'll report back.
