Hi everyone,

My name is Adam. I live in Kansas City. I discovered kratom through a local head shop which i paint murals and do random digital and physical artwork jobs for.

At first i was afraid to try Kratom at all because the type of people that usually come into the store to buy it definitely seemed to be coming down off of something. I was immediately judgmental about kratom. The name kratom also sounds aggressive and i immediately judged it as some sort of synthetic man made drug in my mind and didn't give much more thought to it.

Anyways, as i learned more about it and discovered the fact that it is indeed a naturally occurring herb, I began to research it more and I occasionally experiment with some different strains and forms when i feel the effects of kratom can be beneficial.

Im not someone who ever intends to use kratom regularly, Im still pretty young and not in pain, and i enjoy sports, so I tend to shy away from chronic usage of anything, caffeine, nicotine, kratom, mary jane, whatever. Also, the mood enhancing property isn't that enticing to me as the few times i've taken it, that aspect of it has always been very short-lived.

At this point, i never consume it believing its going to make me feel better all day long. Doesn't matter what strain it is, i've had access to most of them at my local head shop.

Anyways, i've become very interested in researching more and more naturally occurring herbs and substances and i'm always looking to find some sort of concrete evidence about how and when humans are meant to utilize these naturally occurring plants without hindering other important aspects of life.

I believe there is a normal use for everything that naturally occurs and that anything can be used normally as well as abnormally. Im always hunting for answers and hold on to hope that there are concrete answers to questions that remain very mysterious.

Welcome to the ILK Forum addaminsane. Good to here your insight into Kratom.

Kratom has to be used with Caution by the User sometimes. I had a choice either use Opiates & Benzos everyday which destroyed my life & everybody around me which I am still recovering from or Use Kratom everyday & regain my Life Back & the Relationships that I Destroyed with Illegal Drug Use. Kratom is not for everybody. I just hope they Keep Kratom Legal in Most States. They are making it Illegal because Kratom is taking away from the Big Pharma Businesses' Profits.

Kratom is Beneficial in so many ways. I would compare Kratom to Caffeine in it's addictiveness & effects more than an any Opiate. Kratom is so NOT A BAD HERB in any Way compared to any Opiate or Benzo. Only the user can make it a Bad Herb by overusing it & not knowing his limits & by not having some self-control. I have never heard anybody ever die from a Kratom Overdose & Kratom has Saved so many people Lives from the Despair of Drug Addictions. >:D
If anybody has any Questions about Kratom please private message me & I will be glad to answer as soon as I can.

Hello Addam. Sounds like you're a very wise person, for one so young. Best of health to you!
Comfrey, my other favorite medicinal plant.

i can definitely respect the fact that it is a good herb for rehabilitation of some drugs that i myself have never tried and never intend to try.

The first time i tried it, the comparison to caffiene definitely entered my mind. I find it interesting that kratom is an anti diuretic and caffiene is a diuretic.

I find it interesting that both have mood elevating properties but there is definitely a distinct difference in the way caffiene affects motor function and kratom affects motor function.

I feel that the kratom temporarily slows down my mind while caffiene temporarily speeds it up. Neither one of those effects is ideal to me unless the timing is right. The question that remains in my mind ... when is the timing right?

Welcome to the forum Adam!

Kratom is indeed a plant of wonder. Ever since I started here at OK I've been doing constant research and paying as much attention as I can to everyone's testimonials of Kratom so I can best figure it all out. I can tell the community here will benefit from your curiosity just by the questions you are already asking.

Welcome once again, and I hope to catch ya around :-h
