New to the forum, new to Kratom, trying to figure out where to get started. Need help with chronic pain. Currently on Vicodin and trying to keep from moving on to something worse. Seriously, the pain sucks, but I have to find a way to keep working. I hope I can find the answer with kratom.

So much info to digest and it's really tough when you can't focus on day to day stuff much less trying to figure out which kratom strain will work best and where to buy it. It's easy to see why so many people turn to street drugs when suffering from pain. You just want relief and want it fast.

Anyway...thanks for the forum. :)

Oh and I'm one of the unfortunate ones located in a state that has banned kratom. LUCKILY, I have relatives in a border state that isn't as retarded as my state.

Welcome to the forum! The great news is kratom is a great alternative to pain meds! There are so many threads on here about them and how to stop them. Red strains tend to work the best for pain and most people report being able to stop the meds all together. Red indo or red hulu are great ones to try. Also, the greens offer some pain relief but also give you boosts of energy so you can maintain. Green malay or Maeng da are great ones.
The bad news is you being in a banned state. There aren't many and the ones that have, there are people working to fight their decisions as most of them are made on false information about kratom. There is a long list of great vendors here but most if not all of them won't ship to a banned state. Maybe you can work that out on your end either with friend or family or perhaps a p.o. box out of state. I hope you can work that out because kratom is a much better option for you. Good luck and welcome!
You get out what you put in....

Red vein works best for pain in my opinion.
Red for bed
White for flight(energy)
Green for in between.
Kratom is interesting.
Different strains work for different people.
Best thing to do is experiment with different strains.
Start with red though
We always provide top quality organic kratom at reasonable prices.
God bless and have a great day.

Thanks for the replies. Fortunately I have a work around for the shipping. I have family that I can ship to in another state.

The one thing I like about the prescription meds is that I can take 2 in the morning and work most of the day at a tolerable pain level. Sounds like I will need to experiment with these different strains. The red at bed sounds like a plan. I sleep in 1-2 hour increments at best. I can't remember how long it's been since I had a full 8 hours of un-interrupted sleep. :(

Welcome to ILK, Bad Monkey. Ensobotanicals is a great site to get all the info you need on Kratom. msolis & C.O.B gave you some Solid Advice. All I can say is first find a good, reliable vendor like the approved vendors on here & order a sample pack of their different Strains. Then that will give you an idea of what pain relief you can get from each different strain. You can also make infinite combinations with Strains.

Right Now I recommend for pain, Bentuangie, Green Malay & Green Hulu Kapuas but you will have to experiment to see what works best for you. You will have to try different Dosages to see what works best. Start with a low dose like 2 - 3 grams & then go slowly up from there until you hit your sweet spot dose where you get the Best Pain Relief. That way you want have to take more than you should & you want be wasting it by taking the right dose that works best for you each time. Less Is More With Kratom. I am using SoCal Herbal Remedies as my Vendor & couldn't be any happier with them. Just some Thoughts to think about while you are thinking! Good Luck!

Thanks mmnr! I am still reading a ton and trying to devour every article I can find on the web. I keep finding more and more good things about kratom, so I'm a little more hopeful that this will work for me. At the very least I feel confident it's no worse than opioid pain killers.

One thing I read about this morning had me laughing. Not sure how the people on this forum are regarding humor so I will just skip the discussion. I'm hoping this is a good place to hang out and have a few laughs when possible.

I love and hate the opiates. I can't deny they help me function, but at the same time I'm well aware that they aren't the long term solution. Plus I've seen a few people go into rehab for abusing them. Some of those people are still on Suboxone today. One of my best friends has rheumatoid arthritis and she has to see a shrink every month to get her script for Sub. She has a definitive diagnosis, yet there is not much the medical community can offer to free her of pain.

I was hit by a car at 8 and had many surgeries.
I was taking every opiate known to man for 20 years.
Kratom has helped me be opiate free and I would never consider using them again.
I also had a heart attack at 36 which makes me unable to even take Aleve for pain.
You won't be disappointed with kratom
