I'm a classical singer and was attracted to the idea of kratom for help with depression and anxiety. I have seasonal asthma and of course this is not good for a serious singer. Kratom seems to be the answer that will help my situation, but I have a question about using kratom and singing under it's influence. I understand hydration is a big must, but wondering if anyone has experience even while being hydrated of the kratom drying the throat or leading to uncomfortable speaking or singing.

Many thanks and glad to be aboard. (I await my first shipment of kratom and have not yet begun; I am looking to do 2 gms, perhaps twice per day, to start and take it from there. I don't feel higher doses is what I need.)

I love to sing, too, and have found no problems when I take kratom in tea form or mixed in a citrus juice. Toss & Wash, however, for me, makes my voice raspy to a degree. (Maybe after 3 years I'm still doing it wrong.)

I find no drying of the mucous membranes in my throat or mouth.

Experiment with the kratom, the strength of the tea, straining out the particles after steeping, to find what works best for you.

Welcome and good success to you.

If I go above 4 grams(ish) of any red vein at a time I get a little hoarse. Low dose at 2g should be fine in my opinion. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Welcome!

Thanks for your reply. I was starting to worry that perhaps Kratom would not be for me, but your comment is encouraging. I have always hydrated so am used to that so will keep doing that.
Many of the comments I've read about Kratom use and it's negative side effects, esp. tolerance issues, seem to be avoidable if one knows not to up the dose too quickly and to change strains. I have ordered 4 different strains, so could alternate every dose with a different strain. Is that what you would recommend?
My personality will probably latch onto the Kratom feeling and I will no doubt want to do it everyday, so really need to be disciplined so as not to find myself in deep water. It's hard to speculate about how it might affect me, and of course, my mind tries to know what it cannot before even trying it....my shipment is due tomorrow so will approach it conservatively.

Thanks again.

Welcome to the forum Oldman! Kratom works wonders in so many ways and people find it helps them in various situations. A lot of people report a lot of help with anxiety and depression so I'm sure it will help you out. The key will be finding the right strain and dosage.
The red strains have been the only ones that have had any effects on my throat and I would describe it as a irritation or mild burning but usually only for 10 minutes or so after dosing. The whites, greens, and gold/yellows don't bother me at all.
I would start out with 2 grams and wait 45 minutes or so and see how you're feeling. If needed then increase by 2 grams until you reach desired results. Keep in mind that some strains may work wonders while others nothing at all. Someone with years or kratom experience can only tell you what works for them and may not necessarily work for you. Just keep trying them out and you will find one that suits your needs. Good luck and let is know if you need help. Take care

Thanks very much....what you have said makes perfect sense.
I will have 4 strains to work with starting tomorrow, so would you change the strain for every dose, or stick with one for a day or two, or how exactly would you approach the initial onset of kratom, given I have 4 strains?
thanks.

Well as the saying goes, white for flight, red for bed and green for in between. I would try a green strain first in the morning either on an empty stomach or 30 minutes after eating. See how that works for you and if it's a little too much then try a white next. Some people dose 2 or 3 times a day. Morning and evening or some have a mid day dose as well. You will have to see what your needs are once you determine the best ones for you. Generally, the whites and greens will give you energy and lift your mood where reds are more calming/sedating, usually used at night. Good luck!
