Hello.
I am new to this forum. I've been a responsible kratom user since 2008 after years of taking painkillers and antidepressants due to an inoperable shoulder injury and chronic bladder condition (also not fixable). I was tired of feeling like a zombie from the prescription drugs and through several months of research, found Kratom. My main interest is to keep up-to-date on the legality issues. I am very concerned about it being illegal in some states. I can't imagine going back to prescription drugs, which I was paying close to $1000.00 a month for (one med didn't have a generic). I am willing to do what I can to help fight this movement to make it illegal. I do agree with the 18 and over requirement, which responsible companies already do.

Hello, nice to have you here. I don't like the fact that bureaucrats are trying make this plant illegal when they know nothing about it. It's sad for people that need this plant, for it to get stripped away from them. Glad you are an ILK member.
What are your fav. vendors? If you don't mind me asking?

Nice to meet you :-h and I also agree with the age restriction a person using kratom that is over the age of 18 is more likely to be responsible about it than someone who is younger in my opinion

Hey Welcome to the Forum bbishop 1227. You have been taking Kratom longer than I have. You probably know a lot about Kratom. We can learn a lot from you. Pain Killers are just that they are a Killer. Kratom is just so much Safer to use & doesn't get you high or causes overdoses like Opioids can. I think in my state you have to be over 21 to buy Kratom. I agree with that. Usually younger people are less responsible like teenagers. I don't know what I would do either if Kratom became Illegal in my state. Anyway glad to have a Veteran Kratom User here.
If anybody has any Questions about Kratom please private message me & I will be glad to answer as soon as I can.

Hi there!
Nice to meet everyone!
I have several favorite vendors- Shamans Garden and Happy Hippo. They both seem to have quality products. My best advice to newer people is make sure to not use the same strain daily. In fact, try not to use the same strain for at least 72 hours. Otherwise, your body adjusts to it and it isn't as effective (just like if you don't change up your exercise routine).
I've been using it since 2008 and I'm still trying to learn as much as possible, learn new methods, etc. It really is a matter of figuring out what works best for you, though. I've probably done everything wrong just through trial and error.

Hello, I agree 100%.

It's sad the state that kratom is in, especially how useful it is to so many. Those that responsibly use it research it and test it, while those that know nothing demonize it as being the next drug your teen will OD on or what the guy that robs your house is on.

I hate how it is being banned slowly, yet will probably be marketed by those that banned it just so it can be brought back and resold at high prices as 'legal meds.'

Sorry. That was a rant.

I do agree 100% and plan to do my part.

epactheactor: I understand how you feel, but I think you're being overly pessimistic. I work with the American Kratom Association and with the help of mostly volunteers writing emails to legislators, making phone calls, and working with vendor-hired lobbyists, kratom was kept legal in 6 states -- and only lost in two of the most corrupt states (Alabama and Arkansas).

Our political consultants tell us we have 2-3 more years of fighting bans and educating the public, as well as legislators about the benefits of this plant, when it's used responsibly and wisely. By that time, we plan to have enough science to settle the matter and be done with this routine we call "Whack-a-Mole", where no sooner do we get done in one state, but another one pops up and threatens a ban! ;) It's tiring, but we're getting good at educating the lawmakers (and actually getting some of the staff and even senators to try kratom.

So, we're making progress and, the way I see it, we can't afford to let the Forces of Evil win this. Every day I see people whose lives and health have been wrecked by pharmaceutical drugs. Now that they've found kratom, life is worth living again. All of us at the AKA have some chronic disease like lupus, fibromyalgia, DDD, or Lyme -- there is no way we're going to let our right to use this herb be taken away from us and those who depend on us!

So please, understand what is being done for present and future generations. If we don't fight for what is our natural right, we will lose it. Instead, think of how GOOD it will feel to defeat a Goliath of an industry that is sucking 19% out of our economy's productivity, not to mention our health.

Things need to change. It's up to us to make it happen! Cheer up, we can do this!
;)
