Hi, I'm Eddie. I'm 52 and live in NC. Six years ago I suffered a Vertebral Artery Dissection which threw three clots throughout my brain. One hit the brain stem, leaving me with Lateral Medullary Syndrome (very rare, there are only about 200,000 people with it in the US). I never experienced typical stroke symptoms, i.e., no paralysis or loss of cognitive function, etc. Instead, I was left with a hodgepodge of random symptoms such as vertigo, double vision, balance problems and nerve pain, which manifests in the right bicep and right sciatic nerve. The sciatic pain is the worst. I tried to do a couple of hours of volunteer work on Saturday morning (four days ago and I only lasted an hour) and my pain is still off the charts, even lying on the sofa at rest. I've had two unsuccessful (and have since learned unnecessary) surgeries, Botox injections into the piriformis muscle (because the sciatic nerve was running through it), four unsuccessful nerve blocks, physical therapy, massage therapy, neurofeedback, acupuncture, chiropractic treatment and have, according to my neurologist, run out of pharmaceutical options. Nothing will touch it (I've attempted nerve meds like gabapentin and Lyrica, all manner of narcotics and opioids, anti-seizure and antidepressant meds, muscle relaxers and antispastics (primarily baclofen)...you name it, I've taken it). A friend mentioned kratom a while back as did someone from a support group. So I've decided to finally look into it.

Hello and nice to meet you :-h Welcome to ILK there are some great people here. :)

I hope you find some relief if you try kratom. I use kratom to helo with depression and anxiety and it works great, and it helped me to quit using drugs. I really dont have the same symptoms as you to know which strain would be a good suggestion for you. Green Bali is a good rounded effect, just not for an energy boost, Some will be better for pain relief than others.

I would suggest looking through the threads here at ILK and reading some reviews, so you get an idea what to expect from certain strains. Your experience with these strains may differ a little because everyone is different, but its a good place to start. Most vendors offer a sampler package which is what i would suggest so you can try multiple strains, and find what you like. :-bd

You can expect quality service and product from most the approved vendors. I have not had a bad experience yet using the approved vendors here at ILK, I dont like every strain i try but the service has always been great. Let me know how it goes if you try kratom, and if it helped you any or not. :)

there are guides on here that tell you how much a strating dose would be and all that, but if you cant find it or have questions, just ask and i will be happy to help :-bd
