Hey Kerry,
Thanks for sharing to help me figure out if I'm sick or just a sleeping narcoleptic suddenly. I hope you wake or woke up feeling MUCH better today. What symptoms did you have? I had the need for sleep WAY BEFORE the headache, muscle aches, fever and sore throat. None of those were very bad except the dull fever and aches, which were/are managed well with kratom.

On Tuesday I woke up with a sore throat, fever, and a nasty headache behind my eyeballs. I was achy too but I'm always achy. This morning I finally felt much better. Still have a cough and itchy throat. If I were able to sleep all day, I probably would have. I was exhausted but my 3 year old boys keep me busy.

I just KNEW that posting that progress report was bad luck....MUCH worse today!

My Doc says that when you have a viral infection and start feeling better (I even went shopping yesterday) then suddenly you get worse, it is not a relapse BUT usually a bacterial infection superimposed on the viral one...those nasty pathogenic bacteria like to attack when your immune system is distracted with the virus!

I am going to rest again today and try to decide what to do...I like to avoid antibiotics since I am allergic to most of them.

You do not need the technicolor report of what is issuing forth from my upper respiratory system! That would definitely be TMI. :S

Kerry, glad you are feeling better. I'm also a bit better and have been awake for 4 hours! But, as BoMalley stated, I decided to just stay in bed rather than risk getting worse. I may have a leg up on BoMalley because I'm already on antibiotics for after skin cancer surgery. I'm also allergic to most antibiotics, and I thought these viral issues were caused by the cephalexin, but I think it was ironic timing. And this antibiotic is the only one I can tolerate.
I hope you BOTH continue to improve and I'm praying for you. Good news from here! Mom is doing better each day! She did the shopping for the first time in over a year. And she didn't need meds to go! My life is a big MESS, but I'll tackle it a day at a time after I'm sure this virus is not an issue. You should see my to-do list :-o
Feel better, sending hugs and prayers.

Great news about your mom Laurie....

You are attributing her improvement in health to coming off unnecessary medications ...is that right?

Feeling much better this pm...will see what the morning brings.

Hubby has been sick too. One of us HAS to get better as we are running out of fridge leftovers and will be needing food soon! Thankfully my appetite has returned and my husband ALWAYS eats...even when he is really really sick he never seems to lose his appetite!

Since I have not been needing Kratom for pain during this health detour I have stopped using reds and started enjoying some Green Malay. I have also been taking the opportunity to try out some strains in my cupboard that have never been opened.

As so the adventure continues.

Yes about Mom. Dementia has disappeared!

I'm so glad you're feeling a bit better, BoMalley. I'm also going to take a shot at returning to life. Fever is not entirely gone, but I have some commitments that I must keep - show up in Jammie's if necessary. So I'm trying and hoping the greens keep my fever down. So glad you found a use for them. I'm not yet "back" to getting my "back" back to proper operation. We'll see...

Good luck to you. We ALSO ran low on food as Mom didn't get this virus, thanks God. She did my shopping! Now she knows why I can't find certain things she's been wanting :)

I am too weak to drag out my soapbox BUT I think you already know how I feel about over- medicating people. Is it any wonder cognitive problems develop?

Very optimistic for my own recovery today!

BTW...just got an email from another internet friend. He is in the UK and he is sick too!

So glad you're feeling hopeful, BoMalley.

Yes, after seeing what happened to Mom (full on dementia), then seeing it disappear within a week of quitting opiates and benzodiazepines, that was a good reminder as to the road I was heading toward. Even WITH my valid pain and anxiety, I'm learning to appreciate the herbal options that are more than likely immune support and cognition enhancing, I can't go back there. Mom is not planning to stay off them, but that's her choice, since she's now fully able to decide for herself. Too bad she won't try botanicals. At least the generations going forward are more open to alternatives, so the opioid crisis is bound to improve DESPITE "the war on drugs".
