Hi all!

Sorry if this sounds scary, it’s not. I use Kratom daily. About 6 g split through the day. I also have liver disease. But I have been completely emotionally numb for almost a year or more now. It’s not some kind of grief processing thing or depression. I literally feel no emotions. Sadness, happiness, nothing, can’t enjoy music, movies, etc. sometimes I cry if I am thinking sad things but there is no feelings. Like an electrical short. Flatlining I guess explains it.
has anyone experienced this with long term Kratom use? I know Kratom can kind of numb emotions sometimes but this is different. I have used Kratom (much stronger extracts) daily in the past (for a year straight) and never felt like this. I have one crazy Medicaid psychiatrist who already tried to put me on bipolar meds for having slight anxiety, and has no idea what I’m ever talking about. I do not mention Kratom to my doctors, ever. Sounds stupid but that’s my choice.
Anyone? To get my own answer I’m going to taper down to skipping every other day, and see if my emotions come back.

Thank you!!

Hi Cori77,

I haven't experienced anything like you described.
I take Kratom Daily usually under 3 grams a day. I am taking for pain management. I have not had any change in my emotions/ or not having any.
I have not been diagnosed with any psychological disorders.
I take only plain leaf, no enhanced or extracts, I rotated strains.

Lets us know how your taper goes.

Are you using any Cannabis? This sounds likes APATHY! Which IS a symptom of depression.

I think this is more likely to be related to the liver disease . The liver/gall bladder meridian regulates these types of emotions.

"Emotions which signal liver chi imbalance include, anger, frustration, depression.

People with liver chi imbalances often exhibit signs of a stagnant sense of life, such as weakness in planning and direction; weak vision in life, lack of wisdom; and appear that they not growing."

I’ve been using Kratom for close to 7 years and have not had any of the symptoms you are describing. I use daily, although I’ve cut way back recently. Sorry this is happening to you. But I personally don’t think it’s the Kratom.

Thanks for the reply. I honestly don’t think it is either, because like I said, I used to do way more and never felt anything like this.
Thanks again

I have this, but not from kratom. I used to be a very sad and lonely child. I would cry frokbsadness everyday and when I got angry I would have these weird outbursts. Now it's just a numbing feeling, like I don't care anymore. I don't care to be sad, I can't even cry now if I tried. I just seem emotionless. I don't let it brother me though. It could very well be just a chemical imbalance

I do find dulling of certain things. I don’t smell smells the same. But onions from yesterday’s salsa bugs me! I can notice what other people ate by smell, but not myself. So I go to extra lengths with hygiene, assuming others still care. Haha!

I can smell weed someone is smoking within 5 miles. LOL
I suppose that would be handy on Naked & Afraid!

HAHA

Other senses are ENHANCED. (Might be menopause, I don’t know..)
