If what I feel is euphoria, let me off the bus!! It WILL go away as your body adapts...Laurie likes to call this a honeymoon effect.

Some people REALLY like it, obviously you do not! Yep, do not! I don't like cannibis either. As a young adult I smoked it a few times with friends and laughed a lot but was paranoid at the same time. It never became a habit.

Same with alcohol. When I was younger it was fun to get drunk at parties. Now if I feel that way after a glass of wine or something, all I feel is a little weird in the head and sleepy. Not fun anymore.
I can relate because I have the same scenario with cannabis.

People mean well and often recommend that I try cannabis for chronic pain.

I usually tell them that cannabis does not work for me (for pain). It makes me unmotivated, lethargic, and stupid (and does nothing for pain). Cannabis users usually look at me and go "YEAH..so what is your point? THAT is why we use it!" LOL!

Obviously they LIKE those effects ... but there is nothing about being stupid that I find pleasant or relaxing!

So it will take a few weeks, but with continued use that "funny feeling in your head" will go away. I'm taking your advice and using Kratom every 3-4 hours this weekend. It's still a very low dose but I am determined to give it a good try. I've had a slight mood lift after one of my doses yesterday but that was all and towards evening I get sleepy, and that's on White Borneo! Of course, I've had some in my system all day so that may be expected since a higher dose is more sedating. I increased from .5g every 3-4 hours yesterday to 1g every 3-4 hours today. Tomorrow I will try 1.5g every 3-4 hours and eventually 2g. I may or may not go higher depending on how it affects me. I am forcing myself to do this even though it's not the fantastic experience others have. And eventually, like you said, it just may not be for me. It won't break my heart to quit, but I am glad I am trying it. I am also glad that because I wanted to try it, my husband is using it and it is helping him get through his day. After open heart surgery and with COPD with almost 24/7 O2, he needs all the energy he can get.

I am also pretty sure that you will not get any therapeutic benefits from Kratom at the low doses you are taking. Once your body adapts you can try the higher doses. This is why I said "think coffee not Vicodin". The amounts you are taking are very low and the effects, if noticeable, will be mild, just like drinking a cup of coffee.

Right. I realize my doses are very low, but using every 3-4 hours to get my body used to it will help me to increase the dose to get the therapeutic effects, hopefully sans nausea.

You can “enjoy” this more, now that you know ITS OK. Just WEIRD. I didn’t like it, either. I felt that after kicking opiates. NOT FUN AT ALL. But to stay off opiates, I need something for pain that won’t mess up my brain (except your brain is on ice for 2 weeks in the evening). You’ll notice that LESS AND LESS as you gain tolerance. I'm looking forward to that.

I was sort of hoping you’d get a great white, clean the whole house and then bag this idea. Me too! Maybe when I get to a higher dose. Just because I honestly wish kratom was a CHOICE for me. It bothers me to be so dependent on a substance, even a safe one. I get that, but it's better than the alternative. And remember, we are dependent on food, water and air and maybe supplements because of the depleted soil. Does that dependency bother you? I wonder if I get to a dose that helps but I only want to take it once a week to clean, if my tolerance will stay the same so I don't get sick. Or would I have to keep it up to be able to take a larger dose once a week? Hmmm!

But, you’ve come this far. Now I’ve grown attached to having you around! Haha! Ahhh! Thank you! :x

Especially with Teeswaran out of the forum to recover from a family tragedy. MISS YOU, TEES <3

Can’t wait for your next report!

Wow, why did everything turn red and not just my words? I'm not very good at the bold/color thing!

I also thought it was a stupid comment to post. But I yam bothered by it. That’s because I’m in recovery as well. And I’m not very kind to myself (or patient) with these invisible conditions I have.

Me me me <——no more of that.

You’re right.

I do think you’ll need to stay on a daily minimum for now. I go about 12 hours between doses sometimes and that seems to keep me at my usual tolerance OR below. So dialing in dosing and times would best be handled by BoMalley, since she spotted the issue we missed!

You sound a bit happier today. Any mood lift?

Slightly off topic. I pin pointed my morning nausea to my cup of green tea. I have been known to brew my green tea very strong and have had bouts of nausea to the point of almost vomiting after I drink it.
I always drink my tea on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. I just recently started morning dosing with kratom Green with a touch of white. I take the kratom first and I am fine for 45 minutes. Its after I then finish my tea the nausea starts. I started to drink the green tea after breakfast and my problem was solved.
Kratom= :-bd
Green tea=

I found out that green tea had more side effects than my kratom who would have thought.

I drink green tea too, but I also drink other teas and once in awhile coffee. I just know I have to eat first before I take Kratom to make sure I don't get nauseated. Also I have to start very low in dosage or I'm in trouble! Thanks for the tip.

I am proud of you and you should be too. People, including me, tend to feel guilty about things that we shouldn't. I don't do it as much as some people I know, but I do it occasionally. Anyway off to another topic...

Once I find my happy place, I will try to take a low dose daily to keep my receptors in shape! Then go to once a week at my "good dose" for when I really need it, mostly for cleaning or yard work.

You sound a bit happier today. Any mood lift?

Oh, I didn't know I sounded unhappy! Can't always tell in written form. I was/am fine. Just frustrated at trying to get the right dose. I got a slightly noticeable mood lift Saturday mid-day for a short while. I haven't had one since that I've noticed. I took more all day yesterday. Today I started at 1.5g of White Borneo and will do that throughout the day. If that doesn't do it, it's on to 2g at a time on Tuesday, etc.

No, silly, you didn’t sound UNHAPPY before. I was just hoping I detected “subtle mood lift” on a forum. Whack!

Thanks SO MUCH FOR the perspective suggestion. Turned things around! <HUG>!

NAN70,

THAT IS BIG NEWS!

Almost ALL of my kratom friends use green tea as part of the routine!

Hopefully there are a LOT OF DIFFERENT KINDS of GREEN TEA.

We can start discussing how many different types there are like we do kratom strains!
