BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND...
A few months ago we asked some of the Approved Vendors to offer some discounts to our community. A lot of them graciously did. We have been asked to bring those discounts back. The following vendors would like to share the love for this forum with you. I know we all appreciate it.

Just a quick message to say hello! New Kratom user interested in pain management, just got my first order today of 100g of red meang da, 100g of red vein bali and a 25g free sample of super green malay. I started myself off with a 3g dose of the meang da mixed with a glass of OJ... let's see how this goes!

Question: Should all 3 of these powders look exactly the same or did I just waste money on tea powder?

Cheers,
Geoff

Welcome GB,

The forum's welcome woman Laurie will be here soon to give the official greetings. :cheer:
Bev is from Canada if you have any problems with he quality of your kratom she might be able to guide you with vendors.

The powder's will all look a shade of green. The strain color refers to the vein in the tree's leaves not the color of the powder.

3 grams seems reasonable to start. Everyone has their dose for various reason its a little experimentation to find out.
It you find you are nauseous it could mean you started too high. You picked appropriate strains for pain management.
Any questions with dosage, strains, anything else thats what this forum is here for.

Good luck I hope you find relief

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, gbmarsh64 (Geoff)! Yes, I’m Laurie, the Welcome Wagon Lady. Ha!

My kratom colors OFTEN look all the same or darn near close to identical. Some are more brown looking than green. The only difference you’ll SEE is basically from the drying method used. Not the strain or it’s effects. You probably have perfectly fine leaf powder. I have some that are bright green, lots of browns in my stash (red vein for pain). Darker green, sometimes. But mostly mine is varying shades of brown.

BoMalley is the primary House RN (but we have 3 active retired RN’s that post) following the greeting commmitee (on a good day. We all have our struggles).

So any info on why you’re starting and what sort of pain you have will help her guide you IF NEEDED.

She will tell you, and anyone else will tell you, prepare your colon! Drink more fluids, add electrolytes if possible and BoMalley has wonderful suggestions for AVOIDING constipation with the leaf. Hydration is ESSENTIAL.

Do a SEARCH under “digestion” to read in depth discussion on the importance of colon management with kratom (similar to opiates).

Hi Nan70!

Welcome to the group! Can’t wait to hear how your first day went. It can vary dramatically depending on what meds you were using BEFORE and/or still are. Keep us posted on how you are. Help is almost always here!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I got interested in Kratom because I suffer from various chronic pain issues stemming from lots of sports injuries in my youth, mainly knee ligament/cartilage tears. Now that I'm in my 50's, this has lead to osteoarthritis and I also suffer from proximal limb neuropathy/diabetic amyotrophy. Needless to say, after a full days work, my hips and knees are killing me and I have a difficult time getting a full nights sleep. I have avoided taking anti-inflammatory and analgesic meds because I already take enough pills for the various conditions that accompany type II diabetes as well as insulin... yep, I'm a walking pharmacy

I am now 3 1/2 hours into my first dose of red meang da and all I can say is WOW, I haven't felt this comfortable in ages! The closest I can come to describing the sensation is how you feel after a nice long soak in a hot-tub with the added bonus of a substantial reduction in actual pain. I really hope this effect continues and I plan on keeping my doses relatively low and perhaps only 3 or 4 nights a week.

Cheers,
Geoff

I had a feeling you’d be fine! Great! Over time, if you keep the dose where you are, it’s less noticeable pain relief UNLESS YOU STOP and see how bad the pain gets again. Otherwise it’s nice to take it and MOVE ON WITH LIFE. Not all days are great. Sometimes it seemingly “doesn’t work”, so life is not roses from here, but I think you’ll agree that you got a good stash. Nice going for a beginner. Sleep well and post when you need to (and we appreciate good news also)!

EDIT: ps: do a SEARCH for “digestion” to get studied up on colon health and necessary hydration you cannot avoid. Staying hydrated and avoiding colon issues starts with preventive care.

gbmarsh64:

Fellow Canadian here.

I take Kratom for chronic pain . 4 times a day. I sleep much better now and I can exercise with considerably less sufferring and pain (back problems). HOWEVER, Kratom cannot CURE myofascial pain...only movement, strengthening exercises, and phsycial therapies can help with that BUT Kratom makes it much easier to keep moving....well for me at least.

So I would be pleased to help you out or discuss any specific vendor/strain issues. I have my favourites and would be pleased to hear about yours.

We can share all that info here for the benefit of those who are lurking and not participating.

Please do the forum search on "digestion issues" for a thread on how to keep the drains moving on time! Kratom can be VERY constipating.

HAPPY CANADA DAY! We are so fortunate to live in such a wonderful country! We are obligated to keep it that way I think!
