After 3 major back surgeries, I've been on opiate pain medication for the past 10 years. My doctors have: retired, stopped prescribing narcotics, continuously lowered my dosage despite my pain level increasing. I've been sent to, and been insulted by, pain management doctors. I have lately been treated by an understanding VA doctor, but am always afraid of running out of pills or getting cut off. I decided to try kratom for withdrawals and medical cannabis for the pain as I'm weary of the constant fight for pain relief. I stopped my pain meds 3 days ago and have used 3-4 grams of green maeng da twice per day. I am stunned...NO WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS. The pain level is also manageable with the kratom alone. I've gone through "mild" withdrawal and hellacious withdrawals so I was prepared to suffer a few days. However, I was not prepared for this miracle plant! I feel more alive and free than I have in years! This is truly an amazing substance!

Hello and thanks for sharing your message. That is pretty close to my situation. I have tried green and red but either I'm not using enough or am not correctly taking it. It is encouraging to hear it works. I'll try another vendor and/or up the dose. Any advice would be appreciated. I have been reading the posts relative to how much and how to.

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, Abba!

Using it medicinally is completely different from using it for opiate withdrawal. The doses, types and frequency are very different.

Welcome and which one of these uses are you attempting and what have you purchased and taken with no success? It’s not an easy process AT FIRST. Hang in here for personal advice from many others here.

Hi - I read as much as I could beforehand but wound up guessing on dosage. I bought an ounce of maeng da green and took about 2 grams to start. Probably a total of 4-5 grams for the day. Lately, I was averaging 12 7.5 norco per day. I took my last pill 3 days ago. I’ve never felt better. At night, I’m taking 3 red maeng da capsules. I’m stunned as I should be in full blown withdrawal now. So far, I feel great. Pain is manageable too!

Congratulations on this news! So happy you’ve discovered a way to minimize suffering.

I have been in CONSTANT PAIN for 3 days so far, sucks for trying to enjoy weekend activities.

I’m trying. We got a seat on the sand to watch Los Lonely Boys for FREE at the beach. Nice to enjoy with less pain and no impairment. I’m still TRYING to not let pain WIN.

Hello Laurie thanks for your response. I'm unfortunately trying to deal with withdrawal after years of daily use. ive tried 2 grams mixed in coffe and then 3 grams mixed in oj. I stir it well and swallow (it's in powder form). I've tried several greens and a few reds. Any advice or if I am pointed in the direction of information would be appreciated . It's for me almost a case of signs pointed in every direction so it's the same as no sign at all. Thanks

abba:

It IS confusing because the response to Kratom is so individual and we all have individual needs and tolerance levels.

Generally if you are opiate tolerant ( and you are) you should need higher doses BUT the guidelines are still the same...you take AS MUCH AS YOU NEED to keep withdrawal at bay or at least to keep it tolerable for YOU!

people often express surprise at how much or even how little they need to get the results they seek.

If taking 2gms every 4 hours keeps withdrawals at bay then DO IT!

OR you could wait until you start to feel withdrawal and then take the Kratom because the longer you go between doses the less you will need.

It IS an experiment BUT it is a safe experiment and it is 100 times safer than the drugs you are/were taking.

Kratom On!
