I am also new to this, I have been researching and OMG all of the info is so confusing and OLD. I want up-to-date sites. I have never blogged before, but this might be the only way to find trustworthy help. One website might tell me that their stuff is the very best, and next will tell me that their stuff is awful, beware! How does one know? I am searching for info for my grandson who wants to get off of opiates. I am 72 yrs old and have been taking same for many years for chronic pain. I am afraid that anytime my state may start telling doctors that they must take all patients off of these drugs. I just had open heart surgery and those doctors went berserk because I a still taking opiates. I want to be prepared.

Welcome to the forum!

YES there is a lot to learn.
The nice thing about the information here is that nobody has a vested interest in trying to get you to buy their product. Just good info gleaned from science as well as years of experience.

Go to the BLOG section of this site and look for the information about getting off opiates. THAT would be the best place to start.

This should get you started:

Once you have absorbed some of that, let us know what else we can help you with.

There are many here who have come off opiates successfully using Kratom. AND there are also people using Kratom to help with chronic pain. We will share what we have learned with you, BUT in order to do this you have to accept that there is no secret recipe. It requires some comfort with uncertainty and willingness to experiment.

Thankfully the risk is negligible. Kratom is aobut 100 times safer that any drugs you are currently taking.

BTE - the best thing about using Kratom for me is that I have control over my own health and life again. I do not have to rely on doctors or other health care professionals to get pain reief.
