I am new to Kratom. I am currently taking Suboxone and I want to get off of it using Kratom. My son has been taking Kratom for over a year now and has had nothing but great results from it. He's recommending Red Bali for my detox. I plan on detoxing off of Suboxone and replacing it with Kratom for several months and then weaning myself off of Kratom.

I could use some input on how much I should start taking. When I should take it. Etc. Any words of encouragement are appreciated as well.

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, jamo!

The other members have precise links for you on this. This is a great resource for just what you’re doing for your loved ones. Red Bali is a perfectly fine starter vein, to be sure. Prepare for continued or perhaps increase of constipation, just in case. Most of us have a routine to keep our plumbing clear.

Most of us have done the journey and highly recommend it. Your son should be an excellent guide for you. There’s lots to learn if you want. You can keep it pretty simple as well.
I’ll be cheering you on during your detox!

Thank you so much Laurie for your warm response. I have to be honest with you the thing I'm the most concerned about is the withdrawal. I"m on 4 MG of Suboxone per day and trying to find the right dose of Kratom is something I'll have to experiment with. Your right, my son is an excellent resource

Id like to call this to EVERYONE's attention too. There's a great movie on Netflix called "Leaf of Faith"> it's all about Kratom using it for opioid addiction. I highly recommend the watch. It's what finally made me decide to switch!

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Withdrawal is overrated because of the psychological dependence more than the physical part, believe it or not.

The more you are able to wean down, the better. I had no self control so had to just JUMP from 30mg oxy to zip (I actually forgot I had kratom for the first 12 days!).

It’s not a dangerous wean like alcohol or benzos.

Kratom is a superb tool for this purpose.
