I am new (2 weeks) to Kratom so I'm still figuring out what works for me. My question is are there any stories out there about users with diabetes, good or bad?

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, savana5710!

I am not a sufferer of diabetes, but there have been discussions here about it also (all good).

I will suggest our moderator post you a link to his health blog that is directly addressing diabetes and kratom among other topics. Please feel free to use the SEARCH button up in the list like a column. Use keyword: diabetes while you wait.

Look for his comments here tomorrow. Not tonight. Glad you found us!

Hello and welcome savanna,

This is the best place/ community for any one looking to find answers, support or shared experience . I’m confident you’ll get some answers from someone with experience
with Kratom and diabetes . While I personally can’t answer your question if it’s good or bad for that condition, I believe I’ve read from a member/!members that its helpful with blood sugar, in what capacity I don’t know.

Two weeks ... you are just beginning your journey and I hope it’s fruitful for you , Kratom has changed my life for the better .. maybe you will find some relief with this amazing plant as well

Take care and look forward to hearing your Kratom story....this community is another home, people helping people as best we can , explore past threads and like Laurie suggested using the SEARCH to find answers from previous threads

Hope you find the answers you seek. (L)

Herbs have a long history of being used safely and apparently effectively for many conditions. The people of Thailand have traditionally used kratom to manage the symptoms of diabetes. The list of common alkaloids contained in kratom shows us that "Tetrahydroalstonine: Hypoglycemic, anti-adrenergic (at alpha-2)", lowers blood sugar (hypoglycemic).

In further confirmation of this, there is one published, peer-reviewed study in the U.S. "PubMed.gov" list of medical research studies that shows that kratom does exactly what diabetics NEED -- it helps insulin move blood sugar into our cells where it can be made into energy to move muscles and also to help our brains think! This is a major discovery, but the pharmaceutical industry has no interest in curing diabetes because the disease, when poorly managed, gets so profitable over the years of a patient's life.

I've used kratom medicinally for more than 5 years to manage my pre-diabetes. The key is, to use it in small doses, as needed, rather than to abuse it, chasing the fleeting sense of "euphoria" it may offer.

I have talked with many diabetics who have brought their diabetes under control with kratom (one guy did it w/ only one gram a day!)

My Website, has the link to the PubMed study, which confirms the usefulness of kratom's use to improve insulin sensitivity: www.diabetes-symptoms-magic.com/kratom-and-diabetes.html and the blog on that site often talks about the fight to keep kratom legal and other methods I've found to control my own diabetic tendencies without doctors, needles, and drugs.

The truth about kratom -- that it is a very helpful herb when used intelligently, with respect and not for intoxication -- needs to be understood. The lies of the FDA and others that it is dangerous need to be seen as their method to protect the profits of the pharmaceutical industry from this very safe and helpful herb.

Hi Savana
Great question.

I have Diabetes and have been taking Kratom for the past few months.

Where I find that it helps most is that it seems to reduce my appetite and I snack less. I also don't have the cravings for Sugar that I used to.

I'm very under control now. I eat two meals a day.

1st meal is a Double Cheeseburger or two hot dogs. With no ketchup or anything sweet on them and I don't eat the bun.
2nd meal is more fun.
1 bag of salad 8-11ounces
1 can of Meat
1 bag of nuts
Tomatoes, Jalapenos, onions fresh produce etc..
Spices and Basalmic Vinegar

I found that my 99 cent store has an amazing selection of single serve salads. And my meal rarely costs more than $3.00. And tons of different types of canned meats. Also I buy things like mushrooms and pickles etc.. For Crunch I buy a serving of low carb nuts. Edame, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds are all low in Carbs.

The salad is also great because it heads off the Constipation that many Kratom Users experience.
On days where I eat else-ware I still make a salad, but with no fixings just the lettuce oil balsamic vinegar and spices. This keeps me very regular.
