Hello ilovekratom people!  I go by Dano (Radio Dano Here) and have been an amateur podcaster for over 3 years.  I have been living with chronic pain for nearly 11 years.  In 2008, I tore the meniscus in my left knee and had arthroscopy in 2009 to repair the damage.  I went through physical therapy for 3 months and everything was okay for about six months when the pain started to creep back upon me.  My surgeon took x-rays of both knees and found that my right knee (as well as the left knee) were arthritic which he predicted that I will need surgery on the right knee too in the future.  I was in car accidents (NOT MY FAULT, mind you) in 2011 and 2014 where both vehicles were totaled.  I did not suffer any serious injuries aside from bruises and a mild concussion in one of the accidents.  The collisions did have long lasting effects on me as I developed back and neck pain.  I did see a chiropractor after the second accident with less than long term results.  Suffice it to say that there have not been many days (if any) where I have not experienced any pain.  Over that past 4 years, the pain has gotten progressively worse.  It is difficult for me to remember a day over the last 11 years where I have woke up in the morning and have not been in pain.  On most days, I get out of bed and can barely walk.  Without kratom, it usually takes me a good 2-3 hours to get to a point where I can move reasonably well.  For the past 3 years, I have been using those electric carts to move around the grocery store to do my shopping.  I have always been a bit of a "macho man" and haven't liked the looks that I get in the stores or how I am treated when I use those carts.  My doctor has authorized me a disabled placard for my vehicle so that I can park closer to the entrances.  My doctor has also sent me to the pain management clinic twice.  I go to the clinic, get drug tested, examined and interviewed.  Since there is really no scientific way to detect levels of pain, you have to convince the nurses that you are in pain.  At this point, I feel like the interview or consultation turns in to an interrogation and that makes me feel guilty for being in pain.  What happens EVERY TIME is that they prescribe opioids which are highly addictive and kills people not to mention that I hate taking them because I can't concentrate on work or drive.  I saw Chris Bell's movie "A Leaf of Faith" and was intrigued.  I did a little research and decided to skydive without checking my parachute and try kratom skeptically.  The pain relief result was immediate and have been taking kratom since.  That was about six weeks ago, therefore, I am still a kratom newbie.  I honestly feel that kratom has increased my quality of life 10 fold.  I am much more mobile and can concentrate on my work effectively.  My job can be very stressful at times and the kratom helps me maintain an even keel.  I have not used the electric carts at the grocery store and haven't even parked in a disabled spot since using kratom.  I do still wake up in the morning in pain, but after a cup of herbal tea with kratom, the pain is reduced significantly and I am ready to face the world in less than an hour.  I was so inspired by the results of taking kratom that I started a podcast called "The Kratom Show" where I explore the world of kratom, both good and bad.  I am not used to the talk and information format as I have just played music in the past, but I will get better in time.  I try to be a bit skeptical and impartial but am nearly convinced that kratom is a gift from God.

Well I have a second my wife is out of the car, take the least amount as possible to get you the desired effects, I have a handful of strains that you like to rotate between… So you don’t develop tolerance to one particular one… Find a few vendors that you like as They most likely get their crate them from different sources which will mean different alkaloid profiles which is a good thing to help keep in the FX fresh and strong… Create them change my life for the better tremendously so… Ha ha ha my wife caught me ....got to go

She’s very supportive , but got to go

Welcome Dano.
You have found a great place to learn about kratom by coming here.
I, as many here, also have stuggled with chronic pain and headaches for years. I stumbled across this forum a couple of months ago and they adopted right into the family. I've learned a lot from them all and I am still learning.
For me kratom has been the only consistently effective means of getting rid of my daily headaches.
IMHO kratom is a gift from God.

Welcome to the forum,
Laurie will be by with the Offical welcome. I am known as the links lady,
My back story - 2 back surgeries -now I have spinal arthritis- avoided the pain management clinic thankfully, it is dehumanizing I cannot image if I went that route. I did PT which I learned could be done FREE at home- used to use cortisone injections for pain management my orthopedic surgeon did them not a technician in a clinic. Although safer these injection should not be used for chronic pain management. I have a lot of injections under my belt. Pain meds never gave me any function and the hassle was bull$hit so I stayed away from the pills and clinics sometime later I found Kratom.
I too still wake up in pain and one thing you said really rang true for me. Waking up in the morning was hell and it used to take a few hours to be able to get moving. I had to wake up at 6am to go anywhere by 9am. kratom has improved my mornings I feel I am benefiting from its anti inflammatory proprieties.

Happy to have you at this forum and wishing you the best with your pod cast.

Thank you Nan, Tiggermanscrat and somethingsgoingonhere for the welcome messages. I used to be such a morning person and then the last 11 years or so, not so much. I still awake with pain but I know now that relief is on the way soon. I take my evening dose at around 6pm while at work. I come in to work at 4pm. It is almost 6pm and I am physically miserable. The microwave alarm just went off! My kratom tea will be ready soon...

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, Radio Dano!

Thank you for the excellent introduction!

Your bed is over here —-> haha

The SEARCH button is super handy for looking up just about anything using a keyword.

Hopefully you’ve got a routine for keeping hydrated, bowel management and all that fun stuff. Don’t risk a clog! We’ve discussed this stuff and we will discuss it again until EVERYONE is fully educated on the leaf use.

You’ll want to check out the American Kratom Association (AKA) { www.americankratom.org } has been key to keeping our leaf legal, so you’ll want to check them out and they also have a great forum called AKACHAT and it’s thanks to that organization that we are able to legally purchase safe leaf products!

More formalities. There are ILK Forum approved vendors on this website (credentialed and cGMP compliant or in process of becoming compliant for the self regulation in the vendor community) or this link: www.ilovekratom.com/kratom-vendors .

For reviews and all other vendor discussions, see the FIND A VENDOR / RATE A VENDOR area of the forum. There are MANY GREAT VENDORS and we have approved ones that are permitted to advertise and correspond directly with customers here.

Actually vendor reviews and opinions are scattered around throughout the forum.

Just laying out the basics. Plenty more fun to be had! Glad you’ve found the forum, and VERY glad to hear you found the leaf. It’s just a dam shame that nobody in the healthcare community has helped folks like you FIND IT before now. All because of politics and making sure Big Pharma gets their pay. Shameful tsk tsk

Your very much welcomed !!

I don’t know what your dosing schedule is but I dose 3-5 x a day depending on the day ... the less I use the better results , however sometimes you need booster doses .... 1/2-1/3 of normal dose... just thinking if your needing to.. take a booster dose ... it works !!!

Nice to have you here , Laurie is a goddess of awesomeness and the members of this community lovely ,

Take care

I usually do not take booster doses but I will when my pain levels are high enough where making it through work will become torture. I am used to being in pain. Beside nerve pain which you cannot get used too, the physical symptoms of pain I have a high endurance for, its when the mental stress increases to the point when I am unable to manage. First level is annoyance, then irritability, then anger- tossing things shutting things hard like doors and cabinets, if I have no tools available to manage pain defeat along with depression sets in. Sometimes I just need to get off my feet but you cannot control your situation all the time.
I will use other botanicals between my two a day Kratom doses. Green in the morning and a red at night.
Chuchuhuasi- better for day
Corydalis- more relaxing
Incarvillea Sinensis-I use for muscle soreness, nagging back aches
Some will take along with Kratom I use them to stretch out my time between kratom doses

Here's a good link about other botancials

I'm always touched by people's stories of how kratom has eased their pain and made life good for them again. I so wish the big public out there would hear all those and realize as a community we can inform/regulate ourselves and find what works for us individually. We don't need babysitting. We don't need medications that are dangerous and too expensive. It's OUR life and we want to be in charge.
