I'm currently taking 150 mg daily methadone but was also taking opiates. Quit taking opiates and want to go all natural for severe pain relief after surgery getting cancer taken out and spleen removal. Doc says I will probably always have severe pain as the surgery was emergency and spleen was enlarged many times the normal and had to be scooped out by handfuls as so enlarged took torn nerves etc and I want to know which Kratom might be the best for severe pain relief and just how well will it probably work. Can someone relate to pain experiences even close to this severity and kratom assistance? Thanks so Much!! Cheri:):)

Red veins seem to be best for opiate withdrawl due to the fact that red veins are most sedating. Green veins are the most energizing while white veins will be most pain relieving (: By nature Borneos are more pain relieving while Thais are most energizing :-bd

One thing I have found that works for me is either Bali or Maeng Da for pain. They are just the two strains that give me the most relief. Hope this helps:)

Red Thai is used for treating pain, depression, etc. and used as energy boosting medium. The Red Thai Kratom is widely used in traditional herbal treatment for treating long lasting pain . I believe that this particular strain would give you the effects you are looking for. I hope this helps!

HEY, sorry about all your issues. I know where your coming from. I have chronic pain too. I was diagnosed with Metabolic Mitochondrial myopathy (muscle disease) and also degenerative disc disease, failed back surgery, and I'm now waiting to see a neurologist have developed face pain, ear pain and numbness. Some days can get pretty bad. But to answer your question, after a LOT of research I have found the red vein to work best. The Indo red is supposed to be the best but I've found the other reds work fine too. The one thing I keep reading is that if you plan on using long term you might want to change it up or say mix white with red, and keep the dose as low as you can and probably stay away from the greens unless you want to mix it up a little w/ the red. I was on 60 mg Oxy's 4 times a day for like over 10 yrs. so I have a high tolerance and I found 2 tsp. which is like 10 grams works fine for me. You just need to experiment to find out what works best for you. I mix with jam & water or applesauce goes down fine. I hope this info helps and I have another comment about my order you might want to see, they're pretty awesome. Good luck and I hope you feel better...
(you might want to look up some info on the Red Riau)

Hi All,
I have severe, chronic pain too and was seeking help as to what I should take and where I should get them?
I recently received the sampler pack of 5 small packages. Wanted to ask all of you if they should all have the same color? Also, is it ok to refrigerate the tea and drink as needed? How often can one take in a day? On some forums, I've read that you take once a day, alternating strong varieties and weaker ones every other day. Do I take them like every so many hours like other medicines or is it preferable just once a day? As I think about ordering more, should I just order one type or several? Not sure if I can ask where I should be ordering from?
Seeking help so that I can be normal. The world stops when I am in pain. And sadly, that is often....every day....I only get couple of hours of sleep every night because I am in a lot of pain. I have Lupus, fibromyalgia, Sjogren's, RA, herniated disk, bronchiectasis, and some others.
Please help me. What are your recommendations and suggestions. What have you tried that worked and didn't work?
Thank you.

Nothing in pain management is perfect but since Kratom is completely natural and has multiple health benefits on top of the relief it is the closest I have found.

In my experience, A good red strain would do you good.

Red Riau, Red Thai or Borneo.
The only drawback is that they can be very sedating and not good for the day time.

Might want to check out some Maeng Da for the daytime.
