TOPIC: I went to rehab for Kratom

I went to rehab for Kratom 1 year 10 months ago #6217

A physician who is credible and understands Kratom, will not prescribe you to a narcotic as super-potent as Suboxone, in my opinion. That's akin to living in Canada where Codeine is legal, and saying you're addicted to Codeine, and then put you on Heroin or it's legal equivalent, Suboxone or Methadone (with some distinguishing characteristics that cannot be compared, such as longer half-life, but still...)

Anyone with a modicum of education through college, or being self-taught, in this field knows how absurd this is. I know you feel the need to place blame on Coastal Kratom and Kratom itself, but what I see here...is a complete lack of you taking responsibility for your own actions. You're not being honest with yourself.

Reasons why I think you're not being honest with yourself

1.) You stated that it's NOT as bad as Heroin. Thus establishing that you've had Heroin withdrawals, and therefore, you are an addict, having withdrawn from the mother of all drugs - Heroin. You can't just use Heroin to the point you have, and say you're not a Heroin addict.

1.5) Being a Heroin addict, but failing to tell us this, you've sort of hurt your credibility already.

2.) You take absolutely NO accountability for your actions, thus showing us you're still in denial. You're a drug addict.

3.) You stated that "real Kratom does not get you high", but then you contradict yourself in the same post and you say, "Kratom is dangerous, addictive, and can produce severe opiate withdrawl." How can something not make you high, yet show all the signs of being something that gets you high? Which one is it?

4.) You stated that you used Kratom for 8 months in par. 1, but in par. 3 you state that it's 6 months. Which one is it? This doesn't add up.

5.) You've been a member here, talking about your Kratom consumption for 11 months, but you said you've been using for 6 months...oh no wait...you said 8 months, plus a month in rehab. That's nine months...

You've got a drug problem man, don't blame others for your drug problem. The power lies within yourself and if you don't empower yourself more, A LOT MORE, you will go back to abusing hardcore street drugs. You need to take accountability for your drug abuse, because if you don't, you're going to fall back into the loop. I promise you this. I promise you. I wouldn't wish that on you, or anyone else...ever. Stay safe, and look inside yourself. You need some soul searching man, and I think you need some consistant drug abuse counseling and a support group too.

I thought what Pharmacy Dropout posted was very well written. And with me as working in the chemical dependency field I feel that was very appropriate response. You just have to get yourself all under control, especially when you know deep down you have a problem, Again we arnt here to judge, just to help. Stay safe, and take care!

Have a good Thanksgiving!

I call BS and seems like the OP is out to slam Coastal.

You'd be surprise the length some disgruntled customers are willing to go, just to make someone look bad.

In this case, the OP did a poor job of slamming Coastal and everyone saw right through it.

Leo,

I agree with you 100%! When I first saw this post a few weeks ago, my first thought was that this was a story that was concocted (which Jeff covered nicely, I might add) to:

1) Try to bring down Coastal, and cost them business (the disgruntled customer theory)
--> Leo, I know you understand how that can happen - look no farther than the thread here at ILK where gramma tried to slam you over something that was completely ridiculous, and was her fault anyway (in my opinion)

2) Assign blame for the fact that the OP is a former/current addict (the drugs made me do it theory)
--> As a recovering addict, I know full well that the blame for an addiction falls completely on the individual, not the substance/habit
WHEN MANY OFFER GREAT ADVICE IN A TIMELY FASHION IT MAKES FOR A GREAT COMMUNITY. WHEN IT BECOMES ABOUT A FEW WHO LIKE TO HEAR THEMSELVES TALK AND DROWN OUT EVERYONE ELSE IT'S LIKE A RADIO SHOW: ILK PRESENTS THE "MAD MAX NEVER SHUTS UP SHOW" SPONSORED BY VENDORS HERE WHO ALSO HAPPEN TO OWN THE FORUM

I may be off bases here but going to rehab for Kratom seems almost like going to rehab for caffeine or coffee addiction.

I used kratom daily for 8 months. When I stopped I went through terrible opiate withdrawl. It wasn't as bad as heroin, but it was still really bad. The 28 day rehab put me on a suboxone taper just to ease the withdrawl.

Real kratom does not get you high. If you're kratom does you're asking for trouble. I ordered from coastalkratom.com they're a vendor I found on this site. Their kratom gave me an opiate high or let me stay up for two days. Genuine kratom probably wont be harmful as its on the power of a cup of coffee or ginko or melatonin.

Kratom is dangerous, addictive, and can produce severe opiate withdrawl. Like I said, I ordered from coastalkratom.com a vendor on this site (i think they changed their name because they started selling more than just kratom) and I used daily for about 6 months. Kratom abuse is very very real and some of you are going to find that out the hard way.

The thing about Kratom is it effects each person differently some will have bad withdrawals & some will have almost none when they stop taking it.
They should not have given you Suboxone maybe something less addicting like Ativan for a few days to help with the withdrawals. Most people are taking other drugs with Kratom & blame there Addiction or Overdose on Kratom & that is what is giving Kratom a bad name. Also the Head Shops don't help Kratom. How much Kratom were you taking with each dose & how often everyday?

Wow! Coastal is a good trusted vendor. If you went to rehab for kratom I think you may have other things going on. It really isn't right to try and tarnish a vendor in the process of sharing your story. To imply something is up with their Kratom is uncool on all levels.you could have started a great dialogue with your concerns instead most will be turned off by it.

altema00/Jonathan,

I was told of this post a couple of weeks ago. Initially, I was not going to respond to your ridiculously inaccurate view of our products and Company. I also, felt zero need to attempt to stoop to your level of idiotic indecency and utter nonsense, in attempting to create and hold an honest and decent conversation. I can honestly say that your initial post, and all of its' lies, weighed heavily on me. With its direct threat to everything that I/we have ever worked for, regarding my Company, and how thinking "hiding behind a keyboard" makes you in no way responsible for your purely false words and accusations. I have had 'all odds against me', literally, my entire life; and for you to spend however short or long a period of time, in an attempt to marginally slander me/us is completely unacceptable. My only wish now, is that you stand up (in the light of day), as a man, and take responsibility for your actions.

We hold any and all feedback from our customers, to our utmost concern. Though, we clearly do not sell this product for consumption, we have varying reasons of doubt, in regards to your 'story'.

We wish you would have reached out to us first, rather than an attempt at slandering our reputable name. Maybe it wasn't an attempt to slander our name? Who knows, that is solely an assumption. The only other conceivable idea or notion behind your accusation (that I can dream up), would be that you are either possessing or have formerly possessed a 'tiered problematic issue' within yourself as an individual. The causation? Only you know the answer to that. What you decided to write here on this forum (for whatever motive), in no way reflects us, our values and ideals, our past history and reputation, nor us as a Company.

If you would, could you please write to me personally at:

BlueRiverWellness@Gmail

or our 'Contact Us' page on our website:

BlueRiverWellness.com/Contact-Us

If you would feel more comfortable, in venting your concern on this forum, then by all means do so. I absolutely love the right to free speech.

As can transparently be seen by this post, we are more than open to discuss this accusation, and I will be genuinely honest and open in answering any and all questions, comments, concerns, or accusations.

Warmest Regards,

Robert M.
Blue River Wellness

* Thank you to all, who stood up for us as a company, both in reputation as well as in confidence. Pushing any "Vendor-Rivalry" aside. That means much more than you may realize. Thank you as well, (you know who), for bringing this to my attention.

This is very fishy, calling out one specific vendor? Kratom does cause withdrawal in everyday users I know I just went through this but found out the severity of it was due to other things. I used kratom to get off of suboxone so this is very disturbing to me. I have addictive tendencies but realized you can taper from kratom with minimal problems.

I am glad so many of you are calling this out. It is sad to see one vendor getting blamed as if it is a scape goat for dependency. I was up to doses around 30g a day. I did that to myself. I forced a break and it was so hard to do but I managed to get my dosing back down so I personally know that this is not true. There are side effects from any medicine, drug or herbal supplements across the board. From 30g a day to nothing for a while the worst I felt was tired?

I have never heard anything but positive things about Coastal Kratom so that really gets me upset to point fingers about it. If I want to stay up all night and use kratom I do but realized there is more to that, it is me and my emotional state. I let kratom effect me negatively because I was not being responsible for my use. I am now and am very happy. I use many vendors and this only makes me want to lend support to Coastal. I can see no way a rehab facility would use sub to detox someone from kratom?

Some everyday users will go Withdrawals & some won't. I can stop for a day or two & not feel any withdrawals. I've been taking Kratom every single day since about 2008. I take up to 1oz a day. It effects all people differently. I just hate that you are going through any Withdrawals. That's a Horrible Feeling. :(
