I have had enough Kratom experience now to know my favourites and what works for me. I have laid in a stash of the following strains

Yellow Sumatra
Super Red Borneo
Red Vein Thai
Red Bali
Bentuangie
Red Maeng Da

Basically I need good pain relief without too much stimulation and these strains have proven themselves for me. Some of them I like for my morning dose(s) and other are preferred later in the day. Right now I just open the drawer, look at my selection and ask myself....which one will meet my needs right now?

But I think I need to start rotating them in a more organized fashion as I am wanting to keep the alkaloid profile of each strain "fresh" and prevent tolerance.

What is your pattern for rotating?
Do you stick with one strain for one week then move to another one? This would give me at least a 5 week break between strains BUT limiting myself to one strain for a week means I might be taking a more stimulating strain late in the day - not really keen on this.

OR

Do you rotate various strains through the day and if so then how to you keep from taking each one of these 6 strains every week? hmmmmm?

Maybe I could select one strain per week to eliminate completely (put it on the blacklist) and just not have it that week and stick with the other 5...then rotate my blacklisted strain each week?

What do you do? and what might you suggest for me. All suggestions welcome.

For me I pick 2 strains to mix, I usually mix up every dose, so I can have good pain relief, with mood lift or energy. For example, ill use 1/2 teaspoon of white MD, and 1/2 teaspoon of Red Bali, mixing for me equalised the jittery feeling, without sacrificing energy, or pain relief. In my theory of mixing, it helps keep my tolerance low, because it keeps each dose low, if that makes sense...so having to stick with one or two strains a week wouldn't be necessary in my needs.

In the morning and afternoon I do a white or green or green/white mix. I may do a white in the morning and white/green in the afternoon. In the evening I will do a red or red/green mix. I usually rotate strains daily. Like Nessa, I would incorporate mixes.

Regarding mixes/blends I asked Joe if they increase tolerance and he said not really since it's a different alkaloid profile. If you do red thai/yellow sumatra mix on Monday and yellow Sumatra again on Thursday, your tolerance for yellow Sumatra will not necessarily increase.

Me, too! I'm a Kratom hoarder - ACK! LOL
I have all of the envelopes in a box like a filing system. I've given up trying to have colors (strains) all in one envelope. Each envelope has something different from somewhere different, and I do the same as y'all. I decide IN THE MOMENT what strains to use. I make sure to mix vendors' stuff with OTHER vendors' stuff in hopes that I don't get tolerance to any mix I make. It's a lot more work than popping a pill, but pills do not provide the opportunity to mix n match like Kratom does. Rarely do I have the same combination twice. Kratom has quite literally saved my life. Cheers (toss n wash!)!

I also do vendor blender from time to time. I just did equal parts Red MD from COB and White Malay from ReLeaf LLC.

Re: toss n wash

I recently found out (by accident) that if you put Kratom powder on top of the water in a glass and LEAVE IT ALONE, in about 10 minutes it has all dissolved. No stirring is necessary.

Works well with up to about 3Gm or 1.5 tsp. After that it takes much longer to dissolve, depending on the size of the glass of course. The larger the surface area, the more you could put in there.

This is much superior to trying stir the stuff and then leaving bits stuck to the side of the glass.

Of course you have to WAIT the ten minutes!

I make tea out of several strains. One batch lasts 2-3 days on average and contains 3-6 strains. Every batch of tea contains a different mix of strains, but the same strains get repeated often. Here's one example of a tea I made yesterday:

1 tbsp Red Ketapang
1 tbsp Red Hulu Kapuas
1 tbsp Red Thai
1/2 tbsp Red Sumatra
A dash of Red Maeng Da extract (12:1)

I like my teas to be more relaxing than stimulating so I avoid white & green strains altogether (and yellows). So I probably get less variation than most people since I stick to one vein color. I'm building up a nice stash of different strains to keep things "fresh" lol.

By my calculation that is about 20Gm of kratom powder.

How much water would you be using for this tea?

I personally believe rotating strains on a daily basis is best for keeping tolerance to the aroma low. You would take the same strain throughout the day, not moving on to the next strain until the next morning.

If you burn capsules, one of those seven-day pill organizers with the days of the week on them can help you remember which strain is for each day. Or if you prefer to burn leaf powder, each strain can be portioned out into a small disposable cup, and you can use a marker to write the day of the week on each cup. Those little plastic cups for sides such as salad dressings that come with the lids are perfect for this.

Your strains can be portioned out like this ahead of time for the upcoming week on the weekend or another day you have free time to prepare.

I see you've listed six different strains. If you add one more, you'll have seven - enough for a different strain every day of the week.

TasteForLeaf:

Unfortunately some strains are too stimulating for me so taking one strain for the entire day would likely cause problems with sleep at the end of the day not to mention getting the jitters and feeling shaky.

I tend to take the more stimulating strains in the earlier part of the day rotating to the more sedating strains late in the day.

I seem to be needing higher doses lately to manage pain...I hope I have not developed tolerance.

Today is a good day, I was able to go to Yoga with only a 3Gm dose and it was enough to control pain to allow for easier movement.

Yesterday NOTHING worked or if it did work it only lasted 1-2 hours no matter what the dose.

If nothing else I would just like to be able to gain some stability so things are not changing all the time!
I think I would just like to feel a bit more in control.
