So I've got some more questions for you all. Will they ever end? lol

When my pain is pretty bad and I take more than usual, is that going to mess with my tolerance so that I might always need the larger dose? I seem to have days like that every one or two weeks.

And similarly, if a strain is not as good for pain, and I take more of it but not other strains, will I up my tolerance with the good strains? Is it normal to use different doses for different strains?

Now unrelated to tolerance... How can you tell if kratom has been laced with something? Suppose someone offered samples here, and they were laced with some synthetic garbage, would I be able to tell by looking at or smelling it? What about the effects of it... what do the chemicals do?

Thanks for bearing with me folks. :) Hope you're all having a good day!

Hi Jasmin. Generally if you don't keep taking large doses every single day, you should be fine with your tolerance. It's when you take a large dose, throughout the day, and keep taking the same dosage for a week or two straight, then it becomes a problem. I used to take very large doses often, but in the past year or so, I've cut way back to about 2 or 3 capsules a dose about 2 grams. Just don't get into the habit of doing it everyday.

If you want to take a larger dose of a variety that is good for pain, that's fine, your other strains will still work, but still... don't get into the habit of large doses consecutively. Your different strains vary in effects, but your overall tolerance will be affected if you keep at it. Just switch it up every so often and you'll be fine.

First of all, don't get your kratom samples from an un-trusted source, even if it is a free sample. Most vendors aren't lacing their kratom with crap anyway. Just stick to trusted sources. I've only stuck to a few kratom vendors over the past several years, their is no need to seek out samples from un-reliable, or kratom vendors that aren't known very well. There are plenty of very reliable and trustworthy vendors. I've never had kratom laced with anything ever. a good rule of thumb is if it says it's organic.

Yes Jasmin I totally agree with cybin_spores. Every now and then if your not in great pain take half the amount you usually use for a few days.Stay away from unknown vendors. I stick with Chris from COB. Getting safe kratom is most important to me and my peace of mind. As far as pricing Chris may not be the least expensive but his pricing for kratom is more than fair. I just purchased a great strain from him a pound of Green Bali for $ 75_ that's less then $5 an ounce. Quality, pricing and great service, in my hands in 2 days with no charge for shipping. That's a winner!!!! holycow#1

Hi Jasmin,
I've had whole weeks where I needed to increase my dose. Then whole weeks where I felt better and intuitively took less and got relief. Only constant repetition is going to slowly up your tolerance in an alarming way. AND using only one vendor has not been possible FOR ME, as I do grow "tolerant" to any vendors' batches if I don't take time off from vendors, not strains. No idea WHY I have the issue with WHOLE VENDOR BATCHES versus strains. I require switching BOTH vendor AND strain about every 2 weeks. I simply rotate some vendor strains and keep them zip locked in a dark closet while bringing new product (actually old, in some cases) to the front of the line. By doing this with about 8 vendors' worth of variety (several strains from each), I eventually use ALL of it, but it's a long time in between ordering.

Smell and taste are the only methods at our disposal for safety of product, that's why the APPROVED VENDOR LIST is so important, as they have been "vetted" by folks with more in-depth abilities to inquire about supplier and safety, filtering and other stuff that goes into getting the product here. I recommend good web surfing prior to ordering a free sample, even. Red flags are easy to spot, especially with your keen eyes watching out for flying squirrel dung! LMAO :-D

Thanks everyone! :) And for the record... I'm not worried about the vendors I have bought from. I was just curious about the topic. :)

It's a good topic to discuss, and it's too bad there isn't more posting on this thread so far.

Hey Laurie, so have you bought much kratom since last September? I've bought some maybe 3 times, fairly small amounts, but I still have quite a bit left over since last September, but I had to get a few new packages. The stuff I had didn't seem to be doing it for me very well.

Actually yes. Considering how little I earn, I've overspent. The stuff I got last September has BORED ME, so most of it is in dark, cool storage and I got a huge box from an individual who changed her mind about kratom - couldn't resist such a deal. I've also bought from about 8 vendors since last September. Smaller amounts FOH SHOW. My metabolism just doesn't do well without serious rotation of both vendor and strain. Plus I've added supplements. I'm enjoying akuamma (picralima seeds), shilajit, chuchuhuasi and kanna now also, and this year I also got some ashwagandha and incarvillea sinensis, iporuru and agmatine. Obviously I don't use them all at the same time.
So far, they all either complement kratom quite nicely or I use sometimes INSTEAD of kratom. But I do use about 4 supps including kratom every day. Kratom is the only MUST of any of them.

Aren't you glad you asked a simple question? LOL

I actually did get some old stash from last September out JUST THIS WEEK to rotate back in the active use box I have. I do like how old kratom is new again after proper storage. I'm more careful about sealing the bags after reading that oxygen dulls the alkaloids. Did not know that! I was leaving active bags open when in the days rotation. Now I'm careful to close the zipper EACH TIME. Cuts down on kratom mishap consequences :-D
Nice to see you back, cybin_spores
