I was wondering when doing strain rotations with kratom do you have to change colors, or can you do just one. Like white maeng da then vietnam white, white sempurna, etc. Please can someone help me.

I would like to Welcome you to this Great Forum Mason0515.:-h It is better to Change the Color & the Strain when Rotating. I wouldn't take the same color or for longer than 2 days. Also never take the same Strain 2 days in a row as well.

Bunch of Good Info:

Alkaloids, Tolerance and Brain Chemistry
Whenever one uses this plant, these two kratom alkaloids begin to work at the brain’s receptor sites, typically within 20 or so minutes. Once these alkaloids have reached a significant concentration in the brain, causing kratom’s characteristic effects, the brain responds by temporarily down-regulating these receptor sites in order to achieve homeostasis and balance.

Whether you’re enjoying an Indo kratom strain or a Maeng Da, if the concentrations of these alkaloids remain in the brain too long from very frequent dosing or heavy dosing, this down-regulation becomes somewhat longer lasting and becomes tolerance, desensitizing one from the plant’s effects.

Avoiding Kratom Tolerance
For anyone looking to avoid building tolerance, the most obvious and effective solution is to limit its use to rare occasions, however, for those with chronic pain or similar conditions, this may be out of the question. Because of this, it is important to know how to moderate one’s dosage or supplement in order to avoid tolerance.

Dosage Intervals
One of the best ways to avoid gaining a tolerance is to space doses so that all alkaloids are out of one’s system before redosing. Because the alkaloids don’t reach a stable concentration in the brain, the development of tolerance is less likely to occur. The best way to do this is to take the plant only once per day or less, however, even spacing doses by a small portion can dramatically help.

Even for those who use it regularly, a kratom tolerance break can help dramatically and should be exercised fairly frequently.

Dosage Amount
While not as effective as spacing dosage, reducing the dosage amount can also help reduce tolerance. Additionally, this will give one room to dose higher when its effects are necessary without causing side effects.

Strain Rotation
Because the alkaloids in different strains of kratom vary to an extent, many people have taken to rotating strains in order to avoid tolerance. For anyone looking to utilize strain rotation to reduce tolerance, it is a good idea to switch by strain and vein color daily, like switching from a Red Vein Bali to a White Vein Thai. For instance:

Monday – Red Vein Borneo
Tuesday – White Vein Thai
Wednesday – Green Vein Bali
Thursday – Red Vein Indo
…and so on
However, in order to do this, one will need to have a variety of strains — at least four are suggested. Strain rotation also seems to make one more sensitive to the unique effects of each kratom strain and reducing the likelihood of strain “burn out”, which causes one to become nearly immune to the effects of a particular strain.

You can also alternate with a stem and vein kratom to make this even more effective, as their alkaloids are quite diverse from plain leaf alone..

Tolerance Slowing Supplements
While there isn’t much research in the area of tolerance, there is an appreciable amount of evidence that certain supplements and medicines can help slow, not prevent, the development of opiod tolerance. What all these substances have in common is that they are NMDA antagonists, a receptor site responsible for a large portion of development of kratom tolerance.

The best and safest supplement to use when trying to slow the development of tolerance is magnesium, a natural NMDA receptor antagonist. However, dosing too high on even this relatively harmless supplement can cause some negative effects. Because of this, if you decide to take magnesium, it is a good idea to ensure dosage is within healthy means.

There are other NMDA antagonists, such as dextromethorphan, common in over the counter cough syrup. However, we don’t suggest using it regularly, as high doses of this are suspected to cause lesions after long-term use.

Extracts
Of all of the ways to increase tolerance, extracts such as UEI kratom are the worst. Because of this, if you choose to use kratom extracts, it is important to use them very irregularly in order to avoid the consequences. Many anecdotal reports we have read commonly state that extracts can cause near immunity to plain leaf kratom if used for too long.

If you plan to take kratom on a fairly regular basis, knowing how to rotate is imperative to maintaining potency. If you rotate properly, you can maintain the mood lifting and energizing effects of kratom. If you don't, kratom will create subtle or non-existent effects which will lead to needing larger and larger doses overtime.

Rotating is crucial for those using kratom for chronic pain, as not doing so will result in it slowly losing its effectiveness overtime. You're still going to develop some tolerance (as it's impossible not to with consistent use of anything) but you can help keep it at a steady low level. I'm going to go over a few rotation rules and tips to help you make sure kratom works as well now as months or even years down the road.

Rotation Rules
There are many different strains of kratom on this earth. Rotating works by alternating the various types day by day which helps keep the receptors in your brain fresh. If you only use one strain everyday, you'll build up your tolerance quickly. Below are 3 necessary rules to follow to make sure your body doesn't easily adapt.

1. Rotate 7 Different Strains
- If you're on a budget or only want to dose kratom once or less per day, then 5 strains can work.

2. Only 1 Strain Per Day
- You can take it several times over, but don't switch it until the following day.

3. Alternate Types (slow/moderate/fast)
- Alternate between Fast, Moderate, & Slow. Any order but no duplicate days.
- If possible, try to have your strains be from different locations (for instance not all Indonesian). Having other Malay or Thai's helps
create more diversity in your rotation to help keep tolerance at bay.

Telling Types Apart
The first and main indication is from the country or province the kratom is from (also often shows it in the name). Almost all strains from Thailand are fast (like Maeng Da), and most from Bali or Boreno are slow (usually named ‘Bali’). It's good to have these both (Maeng Da and Bali) in your rotation since most strains out there are moderate.

Another way to tell is the color (usually shows in the name). Different strains of kratom have different colored veins on the leaf. The colors can be Red (Slow), Green (Moderate), or White (Fast). So a strain like ‘Green Kalimantan’ is a moderate strain from Kalimantan (Indonesia). The location is still the best indicator though, as odds are a 'Red Thai' strain would be Fast.

Some vendors actually organize the speed of their kratom on their site, which can help if you're unsure.

Creating A Schedule
It's a smart idea to plan out your kratom rotation. This way you make sure you have your fast energetic strains the days you go to the gym, and your slow euphoric strains on your lazy Sundays. If you're someone who has a preference to either fast, moderate, or slow types, it's fine to customize your rotation to include a little more of your favorites. Below is an example using HappyHippo strains.

Following a new proper rotation schedule can even help the kratom veterans who have been already taking it for quite awhile. Always remember to stay hydrated and to take kratom at least a couple hours after your last meal. It may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll be enjoying kratom right away and the process for getting the hang of it is fun.

The fact that it's capable to maintain a low tolerance with kratom is what makes it great. Even if the worse case scenario happens where you build up a high tolerance, washouts are an efficient option that doesn't take long.

Hail yes. You can mix some of each if you want!
I never run on one strain. Well, rarely. Mix n match. Just don’t go over your usual TOTAL!

I have been taking Kratom for 8 months very successfully to manage pain and roughly go by this tolerance guide. I find little results with most whites, Only Bali and Borneo would I even consider and I do not find them useful alone for pain management.
I do rotate same colors on a daily basis but I have separated my Kratom into Sedating Reds and energy uplifting Reds. I do not take sedating Reds, like borneo, betanguie, bali. more than one day in a row. Energizing Reds , like Maeng Da, Hulu and Thai more than one day in a row. I rotate around these.
I need greens for day pain management. I find spacing out doses far apart and not redosing with he same strain works for me. I have accepted that part of my day is going to require pain management other than kratom. I also take kratom with turmeric and green tea and have been about to keep my day dose to 1.7 grams and my night dose to 2.4 grams.
Seems confusing. I followed this guide and tailored it my needs. Takes a few month of buying quality Kratom, taking notes, and using a scale for accurate dosing.

There are two slightly different types of Red MD.
There is a light color and a dark red md
The lighter is better for days
The darker is better for nights
We carry both AND we also carry wilds!
Two different companies, each with thier own great Kratom
That many can vouch for

If youd like we will gladly send you samples of each,
Just send us your age and user name with a legal shipping address, we would be glad to send you some free samples of each.
Thanks for being a part of todays solution!

Yes there are Reds that give you mood uplift and energy. Take advantage of the samples the best way to know is to try. Red Maeng Da(light) and Red Hulu have all been more energetic, and these strain are from Goldleaf. The Red Sumatra was sedating for me. I have taken the time to order and sample different strains and take notes and I have my routine now. I find Green Malay to be sedating for me. :side:(c)(L)(c)
