So I've tried several different searches and have come across TONS of information. I'm ADD, and I get about 3 sentences in and forget what I'm looking for. Is there a simple, straight forward, mix this and this and x:y ration = effect?

I've got the following strains:

Green Malay
Green MD

Red Borneo
Red Bali

White MD (Laughing Lion and Super Speciosa)
White Thai
White Borneo
White Kapuas

I've tried so many variations and have a shelf of bottles with what I mixed including ration. I want the ultimate pick me up and the calm down for the night. Problem with mixing reds is I end with massive headaches. I sorta tossed some old caps into a blend I had that was short on a full capping session and I actually got a slight buzz and was nice and mellow. IS there a recipe page that I just can't find?

Questions
Why are you mixing?
Have you tried the strains straight to know what they do for you?

Mixing seems to be a individual thing.
Best thing you can do is take notes. Yes note taking, you really have too.

If you are mixing White in with Red strains this may explain the headache. You might have to adjust the white ratio(or could be the red ratio)

I use greens strains straight for working, mixing greens never works for me.

Reds I use at night. You might want to expand your Reds and select a Thai, and try a Bentaungie for rest.
Headaches might come from taking a little too much. Try decreasing the dose.

Last question are you using a scale?

I've not tried to reply 3 times and either the network drops or the post vanishes. I give up for the night. Thank you for the reply and I've had several very detailed responses, but my pain level is high and I'm grumpy AF after this last post not working.

It you are getting headaches from ONLY REDS then it is the mitragynine that is the culprit.

There is a possibility that you are either taking too much OR not drinking enough water.

With continued use your body does get used to it and the headaches go away.

I will echo Nan70 here and ask about a scale. It is VERY EASY to take too much without an accurate scale.

If your pain level is high my recommendation would be to stick to those strains that have the highest level iof mitragynine and that is the reds. Get your pain under control FIRST before you start experimenting with blends.

I think you are trying to do too much too soon.

Keep it simple!

Questions
Why are you mixing? - Most of the threads I've read indicate that mixing a green with a white/red tends to accentuate/prolong the affects. Given my high tolerance, I figured I'd stand a better chance of actually noticing and subtle feelings.

Have you tried the strains straight to know what they do for you? - Yes. None of the strains solo have net any noticeable affects. However when I mix the same color strains together or with a green, I'm able to notice the subtle affects.

Mixing seems to be a individual thing. - Agreed. Most of the forums/threads I've read talk about the better results with mixing. Granted, they probably have more experience and know the end result of each variant of kratom.

Best thing you can do is take notes. Yes note taking, you really have too.
- Yep, every batch. Strains, ratio, number of caps and any noticeable feelings.

If you are mixing White in with Red strains this may explain the headache. You might have to adjust the white ratio(or could be the red ratio) - I've never mixed a white and red, from what I've read, there are only a few times that's been done and it's been to add a bit of a pain killer to it. Given my medical history, I'd actually like to stumble upon such blend. I'm also guessing the headaches was because I think I doubled up too soon dosages. Only a couple hours between.

I use greens strains straight for working, mixing greens never works for me. - I've tried green malay and green MD, nothing......

Reds I use at night. You might want to expand your Reds and select a Thai, and try a Bentaungie for rest.
Headaches might come from taking a little too much. Try decreasing the dose.
- My next order with be from LL, they had amazing service, constant communication and the fastest shipping. Not to mention a personal note responding to a post I had here on the forum. I treat anyone who's waiting on me, be it food or at a retail store as I'd like to be treated. To me, that was amazing customer service for her to have taken the time.

Last question are you using a scale? - Negative. I opted to cap (00) and I've weighed them on my friends little jewlers scale and they have all been within 10mg of one another and are roughly ~950mg per cap.

Hi What,

I'm too new to it to count, so figure that in. First observation--how are you getting 950mg into an 00 capsule? We pack into 000 top and bottom and just manage to get 1g, sometimes maybe 1.1 where the caps wanna separate.

We bought by various forum searches for recipes according to symptoms for our son, chiefly anxiety and depression. He was diagnosed w/ ADHD years ago but said early on he didn't have that, so we don't know. Point bein that nothing has touched him yet, from low to fairly high doses (3-7gr). Whites did seem best for him f/ our perspective, the Horn specifically, and he even went for them the following morning w/o bein prompted. But that was it. He's not noticing the difference (even tho we did), so he hasn't been back for it. I've asked b4 whether, if the ADHD brain is paradoxical to amphetamines, then does this apply to Kratom? Never found out. We're gonna try 2gr next for him, on the theory that sometimes less is more, and the related(?) theory that more = sedative no matter the strain/color.

I add turmeric at least 1 gram to 2 grams.(and black pepper-helps with absorption) to my Kratom. For me it helps the duration and inflammation. You might want to look into some potentiators for kratom. Magnesium is one and is often taken with Kratom.

Some people find taking kratom in capsules lessens the effects. You could try to poke holes in the capsules and see if that changes anything.

For pain management Kratom is part of a daily cocktail of things I do. I have found my recipe of herbal supplements that work. I have reduced my breakthrough nerve pain which Kratom sometimes cannot help with by adding MSM, turmeric, ginger, magnesium (through diet).
Only Green Strains allow me the energy and just enough pain releif to get back to work. I do not mix greens. But I had to find which ones gave the amount of right pain relief. My best- Raiu, thai, Elephant, and Super Maeng Da.

I have one Mix that is Red Bali and White Borneo from a vendor that was spot on, but it was strong(could see tolerance issues) so I save it for bad days.

ADHD brain

When I first tried White strains I felt like I took something like adderall but didn't have ADHD. If I take a white strain without a detailed project to get done it only made me edgy and annoyed.
I am curious how White Strain will work for your son and interested in reports in that journey.

Thanks Nan,

I'm curious too. Would have updated but...

Part of the difficulty is his Aspergers. He has to be told to do anything. Last 3 days he didn't take anything, even tho he was absolutely miserable. So my wife left him a note that he had to take this morning. He asked me what he had last time (even tho he says he didn't notice any difference any of the times he took it, and despite the differences we saw), and gonna try the less is more for his energy and depression, so made him 3gr of White Horn. Will keep you updated when we know more. Paleo (non-processed/packaged foods aspect of that) low in free glutamates begins today. After maybe a month of that (w/ added Paleo foods) we'll begin his probiotics regimen in hopes of restoring some gaba/glutamate balance. Also adding a special probiotic possibly linked to autism in mice.

(May have to try your potentiators. We're trying White Horn/Thai/Hulu/Bent, and Borneo wh/ just arrived f/ Rob at GoldLeafBotanicals.)

This sort of science experiment will be helpful to those not on the forum (lurkers), so all your work is helping MORE than your son! Even failures are helpful! Very exciting so far!
