Hi victorb153,

You do not have to wait.

I’ve noticed you post questions here and there, but please will you really slow down to read the answers (anxiety)?

Do you have access to anxiety medication?

We can really help. But you have to be willing to accept advice.

Many of us have survived getting off the oxy and we are happy to help.

The more you have to use during the wean, the better we can stretch it. You may not even need all that you have.

When you are ready to listen, there are bunches of us available to be your support system.

Calming down the fear would be extremely helpful for you.

Let us know how we can help. Do this by explaining the pain you’re dealing with, how much you take and how often. We can start you with exchanging kratom for oxy every other dose as soon as you slowww downnn a bit with the panic. I know it’s not easy. But you’ll be very glad you found this group by the end of April.

Have you received your sample packs yet? What did you get ?

Hang in there. We gotchoo

thank you Laurie..I read every post and follow all links...I have bad insomnia from being taken off benzos that they had me on for 6 years ..ive been off for 10 months and physchitrist has tried several other. meds that don't work or make it worse....I am a little frantic as I am the type ho always prepares for the worse.. so next month being taken off years of oxycodone has me scared..I am very excited to try Kratom and I ant the first experience with it to leave me with a sense of hope....I am tapered down to 30 mg a day. 3 -10mg oxycodone its not goo its like I am in withdrawal3 separate times a day hen I take one and I'm ok for a couple hours then everything starts bad...then 8 hours later I take one and the for 2 hours its ok then it goes bad....been doing that for months...But I will be switched to 15 mg. 3-5mg net month....and I don't want to go, back on benzos or suoxone... so I have to make this work ...so I imagine I sound quite desperate and amnxious and like I said I goes days with out sleep and then maybe get an hour or two. so I know I am not thinking and acting clearly....I am under doctors care but they are just see you 5 minutes and leave doctors and get an appointment for 6 weeks later...I am also reading everything gabapentin nootropics...these are just my medical/mental issues... if I told you my life/family situation you wouldn't believe me....I wouldn't expect anyone too.....I ordered some before I found your site her from botanicals in Canada ...it should be here in a few days... but I found a lot of bad reviews I think on reddit about there stuff... I really liked the re=leaf site.. and am trying to order from them.. I emailed sales and Joe there... now I have to figure out the payment method e check bit coin... I only now PayPal and credit card... Plus my big question is can I trying it when I get it while I am still in taper/using...... thank you so much

if you are down to 30 mg a day you should be able to switch over to Kratom without too much difficulty. I was taking 40 mg per day and just stopped taking oxy and started using kratom.
I think you will find that this is much easier than you think.

Take a dose of Kratom INSTEAD of oxy. then when you feel you need another dose take more and on it goes . The next thing you know you will have gone 24 hours without any oxy as all.

It may take some experimenting to get the dose right but again it is not difficult.

Start with 2 grams. If it works to offset withdrawl for a few hours fine...if not just take another dose when you need to.

Your post says you have been preparing so you may have already been to the blog area of this site and read the posts there on how to come off opiates. I believe there is a lot of good info there....BUT please just do it.

It is easy to over prepare and delay getting started because you are scared but there is nothing to be afraid of. Kratom is AT LEAST 100 times safer than what you are taking now.

The worst that can happen from the Kratom is a bit of nausea and that usually means too much, but 2 gms should be tolerated OK.

And of course you have us....we are in your corner!

Be prepared to manage your bowel function as well. If you search on "digestion issues" on this forum some really good info there to keep the drains running on time!

Stay hydrated too!

You will need an adequate supply of Kratom to last for several weeks. It is quite possible you will be using 20 gms per day so 250 gms will not even last 2 weeks.

I notice you said you ordered from Canada...if you are in Canada I can share the vendors that I use.

Yay! BoMalley is here!! <dancing baby>

victorb153-

I think we would believe your story, but we will help you get calmed down and into a plan which will likely improve your comfort levels to more hours a day than you are (not) getting now.
THEN you can tell us your story when you’re feeling better.

Did you see the part where she instructed you to try your kratom (2 grams to start. If you take more, you can get very nauseated. This is not a good time to take MORE) in exchange for every OTHER dose of oxy.

Got it?

Hopefully you 1). Have kratom. 2) know how to take it 3) you know how to measure out 2 grams

I think BoMalley is assuming you know the above 3 items. I’m not convinced.

Do you have it in your possession yet? Did you order powder? What colors, did you order a sample pack?

I think I understand your confusion. ive been told you cannot take pain meds and kratom at the same time. have people I know this not to be true if you are coming down and don't want to get sick is a perfect time to start kratom experimenting. I am no where close to a kratom expert or doctor but I have seen friends get off pain pills and suboxone thanks to kratom. maybe start with a red strain at night I know everyones different but it seems to help the most with pain and anxiety and frankly puts me to sleep fairly quickly. your posts are what motivated me to join this forum. the overwhelming compassion, knowledge, and welcoming actions of many are what keep me here. laurie and many others have been on this road for a while but I was in a similar panic about 2 months ago and didn't have the forum. in no way am I comparing my issues to yours but I know we have all been there. about to ingest something with no directions ect. we are here for you!

I just checked a couple different strains/ colors, 1 flat level teaspoon is about 2 grams ( like the lovely lady bomally suggested is a great starter dose. if it still doesn't help within an hour take a little more. so weird buying a digital scale for legal stuff he he

Michele373,
Looks like you got here just in time to help someone else. Might be even more helpful since you are not too far ahead of victorb153 and you will have more FRESH perspective to add.

The whole family will be needed to get this one started. Poor thing. No sleep can DO DAMAGE FAST. I had the worst insomnia only a week and a half ago and I’m still trying to recover. Awful..

I laughed about the scale for a legal substance, too! Hahahaha so weird...
Maybe that’s why I am resisting getting a scale! The STIGMA! :-o

My sympathy to you. I went off Xanax low dose of 1mg per night around a year ago and I was a wreck for around a week. Luckily it didn't go beyond that.

Myself I have a phobia about running out of Meds. I understand the terror of needing a drug and not being able to get it and running into withdrawal. It's totally reasonable that you feel this terror.

The type of insomnia that you are having must really be messing with your head. I have suffered from a little insomnia but nothing to your degree but I can sympathize

Don't worry about the bad reviews on the company you bought from. I've bought excellent Kratom from Companies with Bad reviews just take it with a grain of salt, but it's a good Idea to find another vendor.

I posted a suggestion in your other post on a site for you to try PA Botanicals, it turned out that the default payment method is a method allowing you to use your credit card through a service called zapper, I'd be happy to guide you through it. When I posted about them everyone said good things. If you feel uncomfortable with them than let Laurie recommend the place and the exact Kratom you can buy. She's really active on the Forum and knows what's up.

I don't have experience quitting Oxy but stop and listen to the many posts from people trying to help you some gems of wisdom from them are

1. Bomalley had good advice Yes you can taper and switch at the same time. Substitute doses of Kratom for Doses of Oxy. Start at 2g or 1 level teaspoon and work your way up.
2. You need to buy at least 600gm. At the beginning while you are weaning from the Oxy expect your use to be higher at least 20g-30g a day
3. For dosing a level Teaspoon will be 2-2.5 gm no need for scale just use the same type spoon every time.Start with the 2g and go up from there.
4.As mentioned before Laurie is administrator and really active in the forums let her recommend the vendor and the type of Kratom that you need. Stop overthinking and listen to her.
5. Try to relax it's all going to work out, so many people have been /are in your situation and helped by Kratom. You have the bonus of the friendly people in this forum which is really trying to support you.
Good luck.

Thank you everyone... I figured out how to order from re-leaf and got 5 strains they recommended me and I got something from Botantanicals in Toronto coming...and the news that I can try this while tapering down is very comforting...I can't tell my whole story its very sad and horrific and I don't want to bum people out...But the last year since they pulled my benzos and the oxycodone 10mg. 3 a day that ive been on for 3 years haven't done anything besides relief the nightmare for a couple hours a day. and it seems my depression is worse during those couple hours of relief...I guess I have to tell the truth sorry.... but I am a single dad 24/7 with an 8 year old daughter and 14 year old vey very high functioning autistic son.. all by myself. I have no family to help. I am 63 years old..7 tears ago I went thry stage 4b cancer they had to do treatment in reverse in trials 1 year of induction chemo them 4 months of chemo and radiation 72 grays double the normal dose then a complete radical neck dissection ....the mother was from cost rica where I had retired and trapped me and became abusive and son turned her in 6 years ago..The courts gave a 1 year old baby girl and a 6 year old boy to a 57 year old terminally ill cancer survivor. thats how bas=d it was... Ive done fine raising them for 6 years... but the last year of insomnia them pulling my Ativan and not being able to raise my dose of pain meds had me in a state of serious depression anxiety and pain......Ive had a psychiatrist for 6 months who's useless...just throws another pill that does nothing at me every 6 weeks... the doctors don't want to hear anything if I can get an appointment every 8 weeks .....The insomnia has taken its toll I think more than the pain.....I manage to not let my children see.. but as soon as im alone it hits me and paralyzes me in fear... very decision I make my first thoughts are about the children... I cant not be up at 6am and get them on bus and then get dinner at 530 and bed at 9....I take my pain meds an hour before each of those 3 resposibillites ...but then I sink into despair....I am disabled from the cancer so I only have state insurance...I cant find a primary care doctor because as soon as they see my records and I get pain meds they won't take me...pain management clinics tell me they are full ..so I am in a physicians clinic at hospital were I keep seeing different doctors and im lucky to get them for 5 minutes when I do... I am sorry to pour out may problems but when I read stuff about taking care of yourself and doing this or that etc... I think ..ive got to be up fro 6 to 9 am getting 2 kids to school then get dinner for 2 kids and their activities and get them to bed by 9 and clean house and laundry and shop.. im lucky I work when I want for a real estate company friend doing small jobs when I can but thats becoming difficult with no sleep for days.....So when I post if I come of desperate I hope you'll understand why....thank you
