Hello,
I have been using kratom to treat chronic pain (debilitating arthritis in my feet) for about 5-6 months now, with wonderful results. I take 1 teaspoon (about 2 grams) of green kratom two times a day, and this allows me to function with little to no pain. I also rotate my strains daily, but I only currently use green strains. Thanks to all of your wonderful advice and for helping me with my questions along the way!
My new question to you all is: how I can use kratom to treat occasional anxiety --and even more infrequent panic attacks-- (without disrupting my pain control regime)? The dosage and usage in my current regime has not lowered my anxiety but is perfect for treating my pain. My anxiety is very specific to certain situations, so I would not need to treat it daily. I have anxiety around driving on freeways, and would like to try using kratom when my husband is driving so that we can take road trips. I understand that I should not drive myself while taking high doses of kratom. I am wondering if white or red strains may help address my anxiety (as a passenger in the car). How much is the recommended dosage for treating anxiety? Recommended strains?
Thank you again for your support!

Skullcap is found by some to provide reliable relief from anxiety.

Myself and one or two other users here like the Skullcap from InSense/Gold Leaf.

There's a coupon code you can use, it's one of our regular ones but I'm not sure which, and this offers excellent bang for the back. It's a powder, so if traveling with it you'd have to bring the bag, or somehow take just a portion along. But it takes some time to go to work, and for me it lasts several hours, so taking it at home before leaving could be a way to go.

It doesn't list a dosage but in my experience 300 mg. is a good, albeit low, dose. Higher doses yield predictable results, but finding ones higher threshold should be done carefully, and slowly over time.

It can help with pain relief as well.

Red strains tend to be best noted for their anti anxiety effects. Red Borneo has done me well for that purpose. Good luck! xo

I love the red mend da from insense. I do not find reds to be sedating. I have had panic attacks in the past, thank God not anymore. Although I do tend to get escalated anxiety at times.

Two grams of the red calms me enough so I can do what I need to do without feeling like I am close to spinning out of control. It is also great for my back pain.

You may want to try it. Or consider a blend of green and red. It might be all you need.

Also, don't be afraid to up the dose a bit in a bad situation. I have had all sorts of anxiety about addiction and such and have come to the conclusion it is not an issue for me. So I always take two grams first thing in the morning. But if anxiety strikes, I take an additional two grams of the dark red meng da.

I want to try it to achieve better sleep. I was told it will work but thought I'd ask around before.

It really depends on your personal chemistry in response to kratom... I can take kratom all the way up till eight or 9 o’clock at night then go to sleep like a baby, others need to stop around… Well a lot earlier LOL ! Red strains or bentuangie ( fermented red typically) ...are relaxing ... Higher doses tend to be more sedating, also whats relaxing for one person can be stimulating for another , Best to get a few reds and different colors of other varieties to see what works best for your chemistry! let’s us know if you need some vendor suggestions! :) (L)

Furthermore, Is it ok for a pregnant woman to take it? I already considered placing an order for CBD oil (heard it also makes you relax, but not sure it is for a pregnant lady tho) read a few posts i.e www.getjupiter.com/cbd-beginners-guide/ that you need to consult with your physician and in kratom case do I still need a consultation?

Thanks

I think if you are just needing to relax that maybe trying something like CBD or some calming herbs ( Michele and Babel would be able to give good advice as to which herbs)
Lemon balm, skullcap..valarian..??. I think these are safe herbs to take while brewing a baby !

I think it’s probably ok if you used kratom 2-3 x a week ... but I’m not giving out medical advice ... there’s no study’s with pregnant woman taking kratom that I know of ... it’s (imo) 100x more safe than any prescribed relaxant and painkiller .... but if you have other herbal options, I’d go with those , and if you decide to take kratom , I’d keep it on a limited basis ...not every day .... kratom is great ... but I’d do some research on that .... ... if your experiencing chronic pain, and a doc is wanting to give you opiates ... hands down kratom is beyond safe in comparison..!!..!!..

So just always be mindful ( obviously) of what your putting into your body (while prego) and how often .. and the whole benefit over risk factors ...

Take care
