TOPIC: Kratom saved my life

Kratom saved my life 1 year 6 months ago #12507

If this is not allowed i apologize.

I would like to say Ty to everyone on this site that have helped me out with advice on strains, dosage, vendors, and the like. I personally have been addicted to opiates off and on for ten years and I am only 25. All too recently i was currently consumed by my opiate addiction dosing around 2-300mg a day daily. It was impacting my home life, career, and general well being very negatively. So I decided I had to change something. Also i would like to say i have tried the suboxone treatments before and the methadone treatments, Na, Rehab centers (in-patient and out-patient), counseling, drug Court, and jail several times, and nothing has worked for me. I read about kratom one day and thought i would give it a try.

I tapered my opiate habit down very low to almost nothing to where i was sick but functional. Then went cold turkey for a few days as my kratom orders came in. When i was over the sickness, (when i normally would have started up again) I tried kratom. I was amazed at my results. My cravings were gone and i returned back to my normal self (or as close to that as i have been in 3 years). I was amazed that it only took a small amount for me to feel great, motivated, and sleeping well. I even was able to continue work the same week as i quit opiates without missing a single day :-bd (i made sure my sickest days were on my weekend off). I will confess that i tried a higher dose a couple times to try to feel sedation, but found i did not like it like i did the small amounts that just made me feel motivated again. I have been clean going on the end of 2 weeks from opiates. This is the longest i have abstained from my habit on my own in several years. So i would like to say that i firmly believe if used properly and not abused this kratom can help you get your life back if you truly want to.

I will admit in my area of living my habit was not a very popular thing, (very frowned upon) so finding help was difficult to say the least. Through this website i found help and advice on how to use kratom efficiently for what i need it for and strains and vendors. Even support from a couple people. :) So Ty soo much for the help and thank god i found kratom i was about to lose everything in my life if i couldn't make some changes. I was very close to OD several times in the last month and had even considered going back to very unsafe administering methods for the opiates to keep working, and kratom is helping me to stay away from returning to that horrible addiction. So there is my honest review and testimonial for kratom, i apologize for it being so long winded lol

P.S. I realize im not over my addiction i just have a start :)

Such a great post Levonne,

I truly believe that it will be testimonials like this that will help keep Kratom available in the U.S. How could anyone possibly take something that could do that much good away!?

Welcome! I was on very, very high dose opiates for 20 years (prescribed). Same as you I knew it was killing me so I woke up January 6, 2016 and went CT with kratom. I take several days off a week just to make sure I'm not overloading my opiate receptors. Two days on, 1 day off works good for me.

What you are doing is extraordinary!!!! So pat yourself on the back. This forum has been a life saver for not only information but for support as well.

Warmest regards,
Nicolle

I agree the 2 days on and the 1 day off would be a good idea. So far i have not done that, as this is the longest i have made it without the pills for awhile. But i plan to do the same thing or similar. I am very careful not to increase my dose as i want kratom to continue to work. :) If i start to notice the effects diminishing is when i plan to switch to your strategy. ;) Thanx for the support guys :-bd

Sounds like you have been through it levonne. I feel your pain because I too was addicted for several years on Opiates & Benzos. I went to 3 Outpatient Rehabs & AA & NA Meetings but Kratom is the thing that really got me Clean. I just don't think that 12 step thing is for everybody. That's great that you have been clean for 2 weeks. How have you been doing? Any withdrawals or Side Effects?

Still no cravings, ( i really dont wanna start back up lol ) I do still have a couple of the paw (post acute withdrawl) symptoms i think at times. Mainly just not sleeping well at times low energy, not motivated, stuff like that. But not really not very often compared to other times i tried to stop using. :) Even when not using kratom i seem to be in a better over all mood than i would have ever thought. I am also trying to eat healthy and exercise and drinking tons of water and stuff like that, so that is probably part of the reason i am feeling so good after stopping pain pills. This has been the best detox for me i have experienced. I have had way worse experiences trying to quit lol. I have also noticed That if i skip a few doses or a day that the feeling of well being is still there :) And no side effets that i have noticed so far.
