Hello everyone!

I have been reading up and trying to get familiar with Kratom ever since I heard about it. I just found out there is a store not far from me that sells it so now I am wanting to try.
I do have some questions and concerns.

A little about me and why I want to try:
I have for a long time suffered from chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. I currently take medications for-
Anxiety
Depression
Ankylosing Spondylitis
RA

Those medications include Klonopin, Trintellex, and Norco. Over the years from behind prescribed Norco for pain I have obviously developed a dependency and with the current climate my doctor is wanting to cut it out and instead wanted to give me a muscle relaxer. Idk how that is supposed to help with my bones but whatever.

Once I saw that there is a store near me I got very excited to go there ... like I want to go today.. but I am not sure about what to by and dosage. I don’t know anyone who uses Kratom so that’s why I came here.

I think I would like to consume it in capsule form, but read that “toss and wash” is best... which I think is similar to taking a BC Powder (gross).

Maybe someone could recommend a strain that would be best. I would like some pain relief, withdrawal aid, and energy.

Thanks.
KMG

Hello and welcome to the forum,
First
Please check out posts regarding transitioning off any of your meds to help you determine your dosage, prior opiate medication use usually means you will have a higher dose to start and hopefully members with experience can express their views on your medications and Kratom and help you be as comfortable as possible, talk to your doctor making sure he is going to taper you off any meds he is not willing to continue to prescribe. When I have more time I will try to search for these posts and link them.

Capsules are going to be expensive compared to powder. You will learn this when you shop. You can always cap your own kratom.
Head shop Kratom is usually not the best quality which is why we have an approved vendor list and a section of this forum for reviews to help you shop online.
Some shops like botanical shops can offer quality Kratom like Pa Botanicals.

Read the guide
Check vendors and reviews
Find you working dose and how to dose(caps, toss and wash, oblate discs-I place my powder in a glass and mix with water. Using powder its best to buy a scale for accurate dosing)

Strain recommends
Red for pain and Green for anxiety and mood are good to start with I would try to select up to three Reds and at least 2 greens to start trying.
There is a lot of work and a learning curve with kratom but once it starts to work you will want to put in the effort.

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, KMGTX!

Nan70 gave you everything you need to get started (don’t buy that stuff near you, preferably).

We have a lot of good experience here for moral support as you go. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to make the switch. Our minds complicate matters more than the experience itself.

That’s why we keep checking back! Let us know what we can do to help you out.

Happy New Year (special hugs to Nan70 and BoMalley!)

Not exactly the convo I was thinking about but it has some useful info on tapering a med and replacing with kratom

www.ilovekratom.com/forum/kratom-discuss...e-detox#.XCv3sFxKiUl

Since its the norco the doctor is picking on I tried searching the word norco. I remember reading tapering off norco is a must.

I manage spinal arthritis and about a month after taking kratom when the anti inflammation was kicking in I realized Kratom is a great tool to manage my pain one of the better anti inflammatory botanicals.

Best

Happy New Year to the forum peeps I need a little recovery time from New Years Eve. Looking at my kratom notes seeing if I labeled anything "bring back to life" lol
