Or whatever it is you add for the acidity to help the extraction. I've read a lot of instructions, but they all are very non specific with the amount of acid.

I am also curious because I do add a splash (but not that much really) and I still notice I need to boil a long time. I'm wondering if I added more lemon, if it would allow me to boil less time.

I'm not sure how much to use for the Extraction Process but I've read that people use half a Lemon for 5 - 6 grams of Kratom Powder to Potentiate it's effects.
If anybody has any Questions about Kratom please private message me or make a Post & I will be glad to answer as soon as I can usually within 24 hours if not sooner. I'm usually on really late at night Between Midnight & 5am.

I have seen this recommendation before but never tried it. I think I will try it tomorrow. Has anyone here that is reading this, tried this in the past, and can conclusively say, at least in their experience, that YES it does work?

I use lemon every day. Can’t tell a difference, I’m just using lemon more for health reasons. Can’t hurt to try. Not like lemons are difficult to get (thanks god).

Let us know what you think?!

I use it almost every time (but lime juice as its just what was easy to find and should be the same), and I kinda agree with Laurie, might as well just try it.

I don't know if I'm putting enough though. But I figure even if it doesn't work, a little lemon/lime juice shouldn't hurt. It can only enhance the flavor. I also hope since sometimes I make it in advance, that it might at least delay the growth of bacteria since its got some acidity (not sure about this though, I am just guessing since I know 0 about that stuff).

Hey guys, I’m new here but I can attest to the use of lemon juice. I am a stay at home 4 days a week and on these days I actually brew my kratom in a coffee pot just like you would coffee. I add 10g of crushed powder to the filter and add 4oz of lemon juice directly into the filter. Then I add 10 cups of water and another 4 oz of lemon juice to the machine. Close it up and turn it on. Once it is finished brewing, I run the finished product back through 3 times. It is a very potent mixture. The lemon juice is the cornerstone. The dry powder has a tendency to soak up quite a bit of the water at first so I will add water as needed to get the desired amount in the end. My last brew lasted 3 days from 10g of kratom. I have tried using fresh ginger root, turmeric, cyannne pepper, the strongest effects come from lemon juice. I also create tinctures from kratom and that is only for when my wife gets a migraine because she can not stand the tea or even conceive doing a toss and wash.

Mixed in juice of half a lemon today with my morning dose...did not notice anything different at all.

I make a tea like you Jagger, but I don't measure my lemon. I use a bit less water than you do, and I just eye the lemon juice. I also try to make enough tea for a few days. It seems to go bad around day 5 or so, but it can go before that time too.

Do you filter out your powder? I found filtering out everything made it last longer, but still sometimes it goes even in a day or two, so I've been trying to make less lately or I might try freezing as soon as I have enough space in my freezer!

I've been experimenting more.

I don't know if the citrus helps or not for me personally. I don't think it helps me cook it for less time/less heat though because that seems to be weaker whether there is a lot of lemon juice or not.

However, when putting more, it greatly enhances the flavor and helps with the bitterness. I am going to be using more just for the taste.

I add 8oz to a 12 cup pot. The total brew time is upwards of an hour sometimes more. I also use a variety of strains to get a well developed alkoloid profile. The heat and acid work together and the more time under heat the better the extraction goes in general. I have recently let two co-workers try my tea. They both had 4oz and both of them who suffer from chronic pains from many years of shift work told me how amazing it was to actually feel relief of that level.
