Hi Folks,
For the last week and a half, I've been sampling a few items from Jeffrey at PDO.

I got the Ultra Fine Vietnam Mekong Gold (wild harvested) and the Ultra Fine Red Vein Thai (wild harvested). I doubt he has any of these batches in stock by now, but I just want to report that ordering was EASY PEASY and I was able to use my credit card for the purchase. The order was in my mail 2 days later. The prices were GREAT and both of these strains have been extremely helpful for keeping my mood and energy up (gold) and pain relief was good (red). Almost NO kratom has been helpful for me at the end of a long day, but the red Thai he had was PERFECT for evening tea time ;)

I also got picralima seeds and caps (also known as akuamma). I tell you what, these are UH MAZING for pain relief. The best use for them is when I need to EAT A MEAL and kratom stops helping manage pain. I burn a couple of caps or a couple of seeds (the seeds were sent complementary) and my pain diminished for a good 2 hours - ample time to digest a meal before having more kratom. Not many things help me with pain while I'm eating/immediately following a larger meal than a snack. These work WELL! I prefer the results from the caps, but the seeds also help with after-meal pain. I'm accustomed to having to lie down for an hour or two when I've eaten because my pain starts as soon as I finish the last bite or just before that. Really bad sciatica. It's really been nice to be able to continue my day after eating!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT PDO!

I like the Akuamma too Laurie.

thanks for reminding me....I need to get it out from the back of the cupboard. I have powder that I put into capsules...the stuff tastes AWFUL...I could not handle it any other way.

Thanks for the review, Laurie. PDO has been on my list to try for a while. It's good to hear that credit card processing went smoothly.

I'm intrigued by the Akuamma. Does it play well with kratom, in regards to pain control?

I have to watch how late in the day I use kratom because it worsens my insomnia, which I've had for years.

Bomalley, I'd like your opinion as well, please.

Hi dragonteller,
I also have gone years without the ability to enjoy kratom near bedtime. But I now have two strains from two vendors that actually make me drowsy! One is red vein stem n vein powder from Precious Mitre and the other one is red vein Thai from PDO!

I find the akuamma helps independently and matters not what else I've taken with regard to meds or botanicals or even WITH FOOD! That's a plus because EVERYTHING ELSE I have in my "toolbox" of self care requires an empty stomach. Make sure you get the seeds or caps from PDO or InSense. I've gotten them elsewhere and got no benefit. These two vendors, PDO and InSense are the ONLY VENDORS I will get the picralima seed product from and recommend.

I like the picralima seeds for pain as well. I need to get more.

Wow. Never heard of that Vietnam strain. Must be a new one.

My Solomon, if you're out there, please send me a sample with my next order, whenever that will be :S. Money troubles.

I like how PDO has like three threads. I'm pretty sure Jeff would want them consolidated.

Anyway,
Assalamu Alaikum guys. :)

Dragonteller:

I use the Akuamma seed powder only IF I have not received adequate pain control with Kratom...usually after 60-90 minutes of taking the Kratom. I have never had any negative effects from that so it does "play nicely " with Kratom, for me. I just do NOT want to increase my dose size of Kratom as I am concerned about tolerance.

I started slowly with the Akuamma to test for any negative reactions, then titrated the dose up to what I take now (4 caps). I think that in total, this is about 2 Gms maybe just under. I fill my own caps and I did weigh them ...my notes say they hold about 425mg of Akuamma powder.

I am now considering alternating Kratom and Akuamma through the day as I would like to decrease the amount of Kratom I am taking....I would really like to get my tolerance levels down regulated.

The only problem with this strategy is that Akuamma does not bring with it any of the mood effects or sedation/stimulation that comes from M Speciosa. Even though I am mostly after pain relief, when I go without the Kratom I find I do miss the other effects....much like many people would miss their morning coffee, my nervous system seems to miss it if I do not take it.

I am just so thankful regarding all that Kratom does for me to help me feel more human that I am not sure I am ready to go without it.....although I have had many days these past few weeks where I used Kratom only 3 times in the day instead of 4...so maybe sometime in the future I will not need as much.

Just regarding the effects of M speciosa on sleep.....HONESTLY, I have never slept so well, so consistently, as I do when taking Kratom regularly. I ALWAYS have an evening dose, anywhere between 7 and 9 pm. On the ODD occasion that I am still awake in the wee hours I sometimes take another dose...that usually sends me off to slumber land. Lately I have been dreaming more and talking in my sleep (according to my spouse)...not sure if that is related to the alkaloids in M Speciosa or not.

My comments are based on using the red and yellow strains that I have found to be best for me.

Hope you find this info useful.

BTW...got my Akuamma through Amazon...it works!
