My favorite thing to do here is read people's opinions on particular strains from each vendor. I'm really bad at describing what a strain does for me, so bear with me if my information is repetitive or strange.

Happy Hippo's Red Hot Hippo (Maeng Da Red) - Happy Hippo was the first place I bought from. Their strain names are confusing as hell in many cases and made it difficult to learn what was what and what the effects might be. For example, I always felt like "Red Hot Hippo" implied it would get me all excited and hyper. And since they describe it as a "Fast Red," it was even more confusing for a beginner. But the more I used this one the more I liked it. I would say it gave me a feeling of well-being and mood lift, but not energetic. Also pain relief that kind of came with some "euphoria." I use that term lightly. I'm not talking about being "HIGH." It's more like a very slight lightheadness, carefree feeling.

Happy Hippo's Magic Hippo (Sumatra Red) - a more traditional red that really seemed to chill me down and take away anxiety.

Kracken Kratom's Red Vein Sumatra - KK was my second vendor, before I found ILK.com and the forum. More points to the confusion of HH's names, I don't know why I bought this one when I had already tried a Red Sumatra from HH. Regardless, they both worked in the same manner for me. Good anxiety relief at the right dose.

Kratom Eye's Great White - I bought some Kava 70% extract (pretty good stuff btw) from Kratom Eye thanks to a review here from madmaxnightrider. They threw in a sample of this stuff and I really liked it. But damn, this place is expensive and I have not broken down to buy any yet. Very good energy and motivation. BTW, you'll never see me mention the jitters. I have never gotten them with Kratom.

Christopher's Organic Botanicals Yellow Vietnam - I had heard and read that Yellows are good to mix into other strains. I found my favorite thing to do with this one is to mix it in with a White. It causes a nice balance of mood lift, motivation, and chill with focus. I really like this and need to get more in the near future.

Re-Leaf's White Spectrum - I can't remember if I picked this one out or if Joe (at RL) did. But it's basically a whole bunch of Whites thrown together. I really got a good combo of energy, mood, and motivation out of it.

GAIA's Red Bali - as I danced around over the last several months I wound up with a whole bunch of Reds and this one ended up at the bottom of a pile for a while. But as I finished it off over the last couple of weeks I learned that it's one my faves. Good chill, pain relief (take some ibuprofen with it if you have some bad pain), and still some mood lift and motivation too. (though minor compared to a White or Green.)

GAIA's Green Maeng Da - this one seemed to give me some pain relief along with a good boost of energy.

Happy Hippo's White Hippo (Indo Super White) - this in with my first batch ever of Kratom from HH. It gave me a focus, mood & energy boost. It was a good way to be introduced to Whites. Sadly, this place ain't cheap, as mentioned before. Even their weekly sales are more expensive than Re-Leaf, Canopy, Christophers, GAIA....They claim their prices are high because their stuff is Top Notch. Look, it's a good marketing position to take. They're obviously succeeding and there's NOTHING wrong or bad about their product. But I discovered quickly that it's not worth the money when there are so many quality vendors out there at a better price.

GAIA's White Borneo - relaxing with some focus. Possibly a bit of pain relief, too. Lots of GAIA stuff listed here. Hmmm. Don't read too much into it. I like all of the vendors I've used so far. At least all of the ones that have responded to me. (Long story. LOL)

Christopher's White Maeng Da
Canopy's White Maeng Da
Both of these were similar for me. Good energy, mood lift, motivation.

Christopher's Green Borneo - Another solid strain in that moderate range of energy, mood lift, motivation, possibly even some pain relief.

Canopy's Yellow Borneo - they sent me a sample of this with an order and it was a nice sub for the aforementioned Yellow Vietnam at COB. Probably not quite as good, but in the ballpark.

Gosh, I could go on forever, but I'm starting to get repetitious. These were my faves so far.....I think.

What are your faves from particular vendors? What are your thoughts on some of the ones I mentioned above? I love hearing about new strains from you guys - what you like, why you like it, etc.

The only place I ever splurge is cob. I do try a few strains from other vendors here and there so I'm not knowledgeable about a lot of vendors. I bet we'd be dumbfounded my the amount of kratom we take being the exact same thing.
Strain wise.
COB Green Agatha is a really good green, I found it better then his jongkong and Vietnam, but he likes his Vietnam the most. Not sure why I haven't ordered more.

Herbal salvation white MD it's the only white md I've had, but it seems to hit harder energetic wise then a lot of other vendors.

TKS only tried one strain the signature green. This is suppose to be top notch, I can defeniatly see physical effects like red eyes, but other then that not much effects. Not sure why it makes my eyes bloodshot.
Canopy's bertingue(can't ever spell that word)
Is really good. If I had low tolerance it would probably KO me

And re leaf morning glee was actually damn good. Others say they have to lower there dose; I haven't seen that aspect yet, but it is really good. I want to try their soft pillow?

COB white mahakham was another really good white, I got zero jitters from it. It felt like a white and green mix.

COB Green Borneo like you mentioned was a nice strain, it wasn't energetic, but gave me the relief I would have if I was still on anti depressants. I would compare this strain to carpos MD

I am currently enjoying the Horned varieties...Green, Red, and White. I use them alone or in different combinations depending on what I need at the time. Adding in the white to a green or a red is good for my first morning dose. The red is my choice at night to help with pain and sleep.

I get these from Canuck Kratom. They also have a nice Indo Maeng Da that is a staple in my cupboard. Good pain relief but not as sedating as reds. I often use it all on its own as my starter dose for the day. IF I really need some more juice for the morning (and sometimes I do) I add in some of the White Horn with it.

One of the things I notice in Canada is that the selection of Kratom seems to be more limited, BUT what I do get is usually good. I tried some of the blends from Galactic Botanicals but did not like most of them...in fact I did not like most of their product so I do not use it any more. The Kratom they sold had a funny smell and just seemed blah.

Most of the rest of my stash comes from Canada Kratom Express. They are my go to place for Red Bali, Super Red Borneo, Super Red Maeng Da, Super Red Bentuangie, and Super Green Malay.

I am still looking for a Canadian source for Red Vein Thai and Yellow Sumatra as my supply of both is running out and the vendor I got them from is out of business. The Yellow Sumatra is the only one that has really ever done much for me. None of the other yellows like Yellow Vietnam, Gold Bali, Yellow Horn and Yellow Maeng Da do much for me.

I would like to stick to one vendor but I just cannot get a good enough variety so I am now sticking with Canuck Kratom and Canada Kratom Express (CKE).

CKE is the vendor that replied to my question about testing and they test all their product for salmonella, E coli, Mitragynine, heavy metals, and pesticides. I was also impressed with their very professional, courteous, and timely response to my inquiry. Because they test for mitragynine, some of their product with a higher mitragynine content is labelled as super. It is not enhanced, it just has a higher mitragynine content.

Great stuff you two. Thanks for responding. Gives me so many things to think about. Yea!

A very good point about the amount of kratom we get that's probably repackaged, renamed, and the same stuff.

One of the things I like about Re-Leaf is the custom mixes they focus on. Plus, I know I could tell Joe what I want for effect/help and he'd know exactly what to give me - despite their massive variety.

Funny thing about Reds, for the most part I have never had one make me tired. I suppose that's a good thing if you're taking them during the day like I do.

Side note - I've been testing out Passion Flower, Mulungu, and Phellodendrum for sleep at night and all provide some really good sleep most of the time. Some pretty vivid dreams, too.

Really surprised this thread hasn't gotten more responses.

I should also add

Rare Green Sekadau from Re-Leaf to the mix of good stuff.

May I ask how much you use at what time frames and does it also help with pain (if you know)?

I owe Joe an order. But he owes me one. I guess I’m stuck buying, lol. IF I can afford it.

I'm having some tolerance issues so it's very difficult for me to say 'how much.'

Strangely, at the end of February I used Stem & Vein ONLY for 7 straight days and then came back to regular Kratom - and felt no difference in effects. But that's all besides the point.....

I generally take 3 doses per day every 4-5 hours, increasing each one slightly. Depending on how things are going, my first dose might be 3.5-4 Grams, next one 4-4.5 Grams, next one 4.5-5 Grams.

I should also mention I only take 1 strain per day and rotate colors AND origin.

Odd that my tolerance is so jacked, right?

Anyway, I don't use Kratom much for pain so it's sometimes hard to say how well they do for pain since I don't really have chronic pain. Aches and pains from sleeping generally clear up well when I take my Kratom, though. If I had a headache on a "Red" day, I'll often take Ibuprofen with it.

Usually take first does around 9 AM, second dose around, 1:00 - 2:00 PM, third dose between 5-6 PM. Might seem odd to take a White that late, but....a perfect example was yesterday. I took my last does around 6:20 PM and still slept like a baby. (I took some Rhodiola Rosea and Melatonin and went to bed around 11 PM.

You ever had a white that made your head feel weird? Like trippy weird? The one time I took white sundae it did this.

No I haven't. That's...odd.
My favorite Whites have had great motivation/mood lift, clean energy, and REALLY help me enjoy the music that I'm listening to.
