freddieflins:
HOPE - the most common side effect of Kratom use!

Your story is very moving but not unusual. Many opiate users have come to this forum with similar stories.
And I never get tired of reading them!

To be able to be in control of your own health and not have to rely on pharmacists or docs is very empowering and uplifting. It also helps to restore a sense of self respect.

I wil give some caution though - as helping people is what we are about here.

For long term use Kratom must be managed. This means keeping your dose at the level needed for you. As tolerance develops, and it will, the effects of Kratom become more subtle and not so noticeable. It is easy to keep increasing the dose but that is not necessary.

Kratom WILL continue to work even in the long term.

All I need to do to remind myself of this is to stop taking it, and then I really notice what a good job it is doing for pain management!

Welcome!
BEV

I do not have the personal experience, I linked some information if you find answer there-

www.ilovekratom.com/kratom-news-blog/57-...addiction-to-opiates

www.ilovekratom.com/forum/the-kratom-use...start=0#.W7P9QGhKiUn

In the mean time what dose are currently trying?
I have seen Reds recommended for switching off suboxone I would look into getting a few Reds strains.
Hopefully soon you will get more first hand knowledgeable answers, your dose will be a lot higher than the recommended starting dose.

I am currently taking 6 capsules the package says they are .5 grams each, that doesn’t seem to do much. I was thinking maybe I’m taking too much but if I was I’m sure I would feel it.

6 capsules .5 grams = 3 grams which is a modestly lower dose for someone looking to get off of suboxone.
Since 3 grams is not working you need to increase your dose.
I cannot say what your dose should be if you need more feedback try Reddit Kratom Forum, we can definitely help you here as you need but they have 50,000 members as to our small but growing 5500. They cannot recommend sources for kratom like we can but sometimes you might need answers faster. www.reddit.com/r/kratom/new/
Also the- www.facebook.com/groups/PROACTIVE2/
Kratom Consumer Advocacy and Support (An AKA sponsored group) can be helpful. More rules on the other two forums but good to gather information.

Unfortunately, with something like this there are no real guidelines , but then again how many of us had any literature as to how much opiates to use, lol. Personally , I've been using about 5 or 6 capsules 3 times a day( sometimes more or less).
Three days with no opiates and am feeling surprisingly well. Had minor withdrawal symptoms last night but more than manageable. Shouldn't take long to figure out how much is right for you, I'm here to tell you it has worked like a charm for me. More research needs to be done on Kratom, It's really quite something.

Thanks, since I cut back on the suboxone I woke up feeling terrible, I took 8 kratom and the worst of the withdrawal subsided. I probably should be taking 10-12 but I don’t have that much kratom. Thanks for your input. Today is officially day 1.

Another night passed with no opiates and almost no withdrawal symptoms. My head is clear for the first time in years.
