It is trial and error. For my morning workouts and during the day, my go to are whites, greens, or green/white blend. Every once in a while I will do a red/white mix. Strains with the same name for example Green Borneo or White Hulu can vary slightly from vendor to vendor and even time of the year. One vendor's Green Borneo may be more stimulating than another. Then six months later it is reversed.

Hi Maps,
Like others said, white and green are your day time strain (and one red, Red Maeng Da) and Red's for evening/night. They gave you great suggestions on strains but I'd add Green Vietnam from Christopher's Organic then White Hulu from Gold Leaf or Incense Rob's. When you get a feel for the strains by themselves, please, mix them, it makes for a whole new feeling. For example, in the evening, when I don't want to go to bed but want to chill,l I'll mix red bali and green vietnam (or whatever green you have on stack).

The Vendor's I've used that I can personally trust are christophers, gold leaf, insenserob, pharmacy dropout, Kats (but he's really low on supply and long processing shipping times). I've also bought from Happy Hippo and they were decent too. When you find a few trusted vendors, you will find that they each have their "great ones" so you purchase some from here and some from there. It's good to change them up a bit so you don't grow too tolerant of one. Also, try to take it once per day, the effects feel better. I personally take it 2x a day (7:30am and 4:30pm) and it definitely works but at the cost of having to take more of it and not as stimulating as when I took it once per day.

Finally, if you can deal with the plain powder over the pills, you will save a huge amount of money. I simply put the right dose age in a tall cup, fill 2/3 with water, stir vigorously and gulp it back. Nothing to it. Start with like 3 g and as you need to go up slightly. I personally take 6g (230lbs and doing it about 7-8 months)

Enjoy the benefits!

Welcome to the forum Mapsofsynapse !! Don't be afraid to jump around and try different strains from different vendors, my preferred are greens and whites and certain reds. Try green Malay that was always a great mood lifter for me and green maeng da is always in my cabinet lol whites are also great for energy in the morning for me (some feel relaxed with whites) i love white thai and sumatra . Reds are not my preferred. But try them they maybe yours. Some claim reds are great for anxiety relief nd sleep, i like red Borneo or certain Bali (red maeng is stimulating for me). Everyone is different, what don't work for me might work for you lol. Goodluckk and enjoy!!!

Welcome to the forum
Have you read the kratom guide-

Itchiness is a common side effect and usually is temporary. Kratom is dehydrating it is important to keep hydrated. Taking too much can make you nauseous and have headaches. Commonly White is for flight, Greens for in between, Reds for bed. But this is not always the case for everyone. Quality of the product is a factor and each individual experience.

I take Greens Strains during the day for work but not all will be pain relieving enough so I narrowed my strains that work for me. Green Borneo being my top day strain, manages pain and stress. I took a few months of trial and error to make my list.
I started out to manage pain with Red Strains. Red Borneo, Red Bali , Red Bentuangie( most sedating) I have no problem falling asleep at night. Red Maeng Da I find more stimulating and can take during the day.

Read through our vendor reviews. Decide your budget. Try ordering samples of different strains.

I can make recommendations but kratom can be different from person to person.
Day- Green Borneo, Green Thai, Green Hulu or Green Maeng Da
Red Borneo, Red Bali, Red Sumatra, Red bentuangie

I have about 4 different vendors I order from the list here. My most recent purchase was from Goldleaf botanicals, you can use the search here for lots of reviews.

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, MapsofSynapse!

I want to order whatever you’re having :-)

I’ve had to do trial and error for years and I STILL can’t predict perfection on these issues.

Some of the other members are more vigilant with dose strain, size and how often. They’ll be along to offer more than a giggle.

Glad you found us!

Hello everyone

I'm new to kratom use. I stumbled upon a store selling it and after talking to the girl working there, I bought some maeng da powder to try.
I primarily wanted to try it for pain management (I have early onset arthritis in both of my knees). I also struggle with anxiety and depression.
I was a bit nervous about trying kratom due to conflicting informaton, but decided to take a plunge and try it one day prior to my workout. I noticed a boost in energy and a zen like state. I also noticed a slight reduction in my knee soreness.
I wanted to try it the next day, but experienced weird side effects like itching, sore throat and drowsiness. Last night I was having horrible cramps (PMS) so wanted to try it and it really helped to take the edge off! normally it takes at least an hour for pain meds to kick in, but kratom worked within 15 mins. The downside was that I could not sleep the rest of the night

Which leads me to my question... I would like to try other strains of kratom, but with so many vendors and options, how do you chose the right one?

Here's what I'm looking for. Something I can take in the morning before workout that will give me energy for few hours as well as reduce pain in my knees and/or something I can take for energy as well as reduction in anxiety without the drowsiness to get me through work.
I work in retail and some days are panic attack inducing. When I took maeng da prior to work, I was just cruising along and chatting with everyone without an ounce of anxiety. It was a very weird sensation (must be what normal people feel like).

Anyways, sorry for the long intro, but I appreciate all the suggestions!
