I’m so glad you’re not having that same problem NOW, DStarr66!

I’m also much healthier OVERALL, Wolverine. I think kratom automatically lends itself to working better with healthier lifestyle choices - but there’s no science on that. Could be a figment of my imagination...

When I watched “leaf of faith “ ,if I’m remembering correctly, there was people with liver problems from heavy drug use and after they switched to kratom their liver issues went away.
I don’t want to say it can’t cause liver problems but watching the movie might have some valuable information.
I do know that I have less side effects with kratom, given it’s good quality, than my prescription pain medications.

Getting Plenty of Fluids is key with Kratom. I take Mira-Lax everyday & that seems to get me by most of the time. Hope you are feeling better.

There has to be something in that protein powder that could cause the cramping...would you mind listing the ingredients here?

Maybe I could recognize something that might be interacting wtih the Kratom?

Hi, I am the original post with the stomach cramps. And I definitely do think it was the combo of protein and Kratom because I still have not had a problem since, and I havnt stopped either just havnt been mixing them together. Thanks for all the advice, really appreciate it.

I linked the nih.gov article(not thrilled of the tone but the information is there) that explains the condition and I highlighted
the main points.

<em>Kratom has been linked to rare instances of clinically apparent acute liver injury.</em>
<em>Patients who present with acute liver injury due to kratom usually recover rapidly once it is discontinued.</em>

Many prescription medications also have the possibiity of liver problems. Remember that ALL chemicals in the body go through the liver so excessive of any chemical can cause liver problems.

Kratom however, is a whole food NOT a single chemical. Just like eggs have lecithin in them to help process cholesterol, most whole foods contain a number of chemicals that balance each other out. This prevents a single chemical from building up in the body with continued use. This is what Dr McCurdy means when he says the whole plant acts like a well orchestrated symphony.

Just in regards to stomach problems...I am glad the original poster figured out it was the protein shake but this might be a good place to remind people that Kratom will cause constipation. So it is important to pay attention to bowel function and use other herbs (like Cascara Sagrada or Aloe Ferox) on a regular basis to keep the drains running on time! But if you use too much of these herbs then cramps can result from that too.

Your bowels should move EVERY DAY!

Kratom on its own is more likely to cause nausea, than cramping. Newbies sometimes find that it causes nausea but this seems to settle down as the dose is tweaked and the body adjusts to the alkaloids present in Kratom.

One quick question that I have not found a concrete answer to, and maybe there just isn’t enough evidence yet, but do you know if Kratom has any affect on the liver? I was in liver failure 2 years ago, since, I have gained full function and have a clean bill of health but I’m still a little concerned . Thanks
