The Gluco-Gel from Youngevity has both glucosamine and beef gelatine and other co-factors that help them work. The best therapy, imho, is one that not only helps lower pain, but helps our body rebuild the joint or painful degenerative disc (that is causing the sciatic pain). Our body is quite capable of repairing itself if it is given the necessary raw materials.

About the low thyroid levels, Nana70 -- try a good iodine supplement! Thyroid hormones are constructed from iodine as a key ingredient. Maybe you're not getting enough?

Good to hear the eggs are working for you, too!

Paul-You mentioned way back that your Naturopathic Physician recommend eating eggs daily. I didn't realize your doctor was Dr. Wallach.(that is awesome) But the number of eggs was something like 6. A bit overwhelmed I researched why eggs, and realized I could do at least 2 eggs daily sometimes 4. I was getting random shocks of sciatic pain multiple times a day, now almost never. Just thought I should mention. Thank you for sharing this information it made a major change for me.

I am taking two digestion management supplements from Youngevity for blood sugar support and metabolism.
I am going to look over the two products you mentioned at the web site.

Glucosamine sulfate seems to be the right supplement to add to my dietary routine. Thank you Paul and Babel!

Selenium is another one I had been considering because my thyroid levels were off at my last doctors appointment,
I am supposed to retest but I already know that I am not willing to see an endocrinologist or consider thyroid medications. I feel the test is not entirely accurate I have been using an iodine wash to clear up and improve old scarring, I know this can make the blood test off. But getting too far off subject.

I going to look over the products now and see what seems like the best way to go.

My husband is doing the bone broth thing. Have to see how that goes for him he is the guinea pig for that.

Edit- Laurie thank you for the summoning!!

Your post was a helpful reminder that I had zero complaints regarding my knees when I was taking Glocosamine Sulfate.

My last bottle was purchased at a discount from a local Vitamin supplier. I'm lucky enough to live near where (seemingly) most Vitamins are manufactured. It's funny but they're all within a mile or two of each other, right near the local airport and major roads, and two of them are right next door to each other. I don't count the third, Piping Rock, though I often shop there, as its owned by the father and son part owners of one of the major companies that's next door. Their clearance racks can send you into a frenzy, lol.

Yadda, yadda, yadda, but I just checked, and funny enough it's cheaper for me to buy Puritans Pride version from Amazon, rather than drive to Piping Rock. I think Puritans Pride has an outlet as well, and maybe one day I'll check it out, but not today. They have frequent online sales.

They're huge, and their warehouses dominate the end of the street they're on. Anyway, I just checked the prices, and the best deal I can find is Puritans Pride Glucosamine Sulfate 1000 mg Capsules, 240 Count.

Lol, Amazon isn't paying me to link to them, nor is anyone, so if buying Glucosamine sulfate by itself, this would be the price to beat.

Though I have Subscribe and Save, so I get 15% off, plus free shipping. That might negate some of its advantage to others.

Nan70:

I suffered severe flareups of back spasms and sciatica for 40 years. I have tried many things: Chiropractic, hydrocodone, yoga and stretches (which I still do every morning), and many systems of supplements.

I met Dr. Wallach, who created Youngevity, in Jan. 2013, and he told me what he recommended for all these bone & joint problems. He invited me to join him for breakfast after one of his lectures and imprssed me with his knowledge about physiology and his concern for suffering.

Basically, what he recommends is some form of the 90 essential nutrients as a basis of rebuilding your bones, cartilage, and tendons. Youngevity has a new formula called the "Core90", then add a big bottle of Gluco-Gel capsules (take 5 caps with each meal to rebuild cartilage, tendons, and bone matrix) and you might add a bottle of selenium. Do this for 3 months and you should feel improvements, if your digestion is letting you assimilate the nutrients.

These, together, give your body the raw materials to strengthen bone, re-surface the cartilage in the joints, the works. Taking single-ingredient items like SAM-E can't do the whole job; they merely stop or reduce the inflammtion.

You will need to get gluten out of your life because it destroys the gut's ability to absorb the nutrients, which are needed to rebuild -- not just your knees -- but all parts of your body.

It worked for me -- no more of the crippling back spasms or sciatic pain. It's about $160 a month for the supplements. I can show you ways to economize and still get the nutrients that are needed.

If you're interested, I can walk you through the steps.

Edit: At that link they mention using "capsules" but every major brand uses enteric coating, and for good reason. Your tummy wouldn't like it if they weren't coated. ;)

Just have to watch out for taking too much, as you don't feel the full effect of daily dosing for a few days. Once a day can be plenty, or every other day/as needed, though for some uses people could be advised to take much larger doses, several times a day.

Just get it in the blister packs, and buy the cheapest name brand. Afaik they all use the same formula that was developed in Italy. Start with the lowest dosage one that's generally available. Though there might still be one around that is even half of that, but relatively few people use that low a dose.

This might be the best bang for the buck, especially as I'm seeing a coupon on its page. smile.amazon.com/SAM-200mg-Daily-Supplement-Promotes/dp/B079Q65Y4C

Compensating for my back problems sometimes other body parts are at risk for over use. I often sit a version of Indian style this is a beneficial pose in yoga not great when its repeated throughout the day or I am over stretching my ankle finding comfortable sitting potions. I am often on my feet during the day and I am sure my lower back makes everything below work overtime.
My knees- pain was mild until it wasn't I feel for everyone with bad knees and who struggles with this type of pain. Kratom has kept me functioning but when it wears off not fun.
I diagnosed myself with tendonitis of Knees(pain also in the shins and ankle) I am practicing exercise moderation - Rest. Ice. Heat. Elevation. For the most part the pain level is down. I could be suffering for up to 6 weeks am I starting week 2.

Suggestions from the crowd. I know there are supplement that help healing. I feel I am already getting enough magnesium, and MSM. I do not know would be the best to add for knee/tendon pain/healing.

been following this- draxe.com/health/bones-joints/tendonitis/
