Hey little bear ,

I like many other folks who’ve discovered Kratom used to be on meds to treat ailments such as depression, anxiety all stemming from chronic pain. After using Kratom for a week I decided to stop my depression meds, I did that cold turkey and had a rough time, very sick and emotionally like a train that lost brakes, id taper off those if I could have a do over, but I made it through with huge help from Kratom.

We are all unique in our chemistry so while I know it’s possible to get off most if not all meds cause I did that, might be trickier for others , might be the greatest decision to make for health, psychological and physical.. but tapering is I think the way to go, taper until you are there

This ilovekratom place is very special because unlike Reddit, which has some great info , we don’t bring hammers down on anyone trying to just find a way that works, we by all appearances have eachothers best interests at heart and in mind , big thx to everyone’s contributions, Paul , Laurie and all the members who exemplifies integrity and keeps this place well oiled with awesomeness,

We are all so lucky to have eachother, this community and Kratom !!

Kratom is just that great of a herbal tool, this is just that awesome of a forum

I take at least 25 grams per day in divided doses for pain management (I am having some trouble managing pain lately too).

There is NOTHING wrong with being dependent on Kratom, please stop judging your worth based on whether you "need" something to manage pain.

LESS is NOT MORE when it comes to pain management - at least my own experiments have led to that conclusion.

Kratom is a complex plant with MANY alkaloids and that is why it can be used for a wide variety of symptoms.

BUT with Kratom there is the issue of tolerance developing so it is best to be doing OTHER things to help with pain management too.

PAIN is not caused by a Kratom deficiency, so taking Kratom will not address the root cause of pain. Kratom can help to improve the quality of life for chronic pain sufferrs BUT the root cause must be adressed in order to see life long improvement.

Since I suffer from myofascial pain (as opposed to nerve pain or radiculopathy) I have found manual therapies to be very helpful (physiotherapy, RMT, alignment and structural based therapies, Yoga, Bowen therapy, osteopathy, walking etc ) as a way to stretch and strengthen my muscles and bones so they can support me.

Inflammation can be adressed with herbs and an anti-inflammatory diet.

ALL of these things work together!

BTW - her is my interpretation about the less is more theory

I really dont pay attention to how much my daily kratom intake is. I start the morning off with 2 to 3 tsp's of a mix of strains and vendors. I take it with Tumeric that has black pepper in it. then i have my morning coffee and wait for the kratom to kick in. then my anxiety fades away and i feel more positive and energetic. i can actually start my day and not want to curl back into bed.
From there i dose throughout the day depending on how i feel and what i am doing. so i dont get caught up in trying to take as little as possible. rotating strains and vendors as kept my tolerance in check.'

It would only concern me if i started taking doses just to take more.

I have to agree with you. I take Kratom for chronic back pain and found on really rough days I need to take a good starting dose at 10-12mg (and that's when I have a good strain!!)

Some doses just need to be bumped up due to the intensity of pain, I here you Balidreamz....and nice to meet you :-h I’m so happy that kratom had agreed with me so well, never been ill from taking to much, though a couple wobbly times , minor though, my body recognizes that this herb is super friendly and wants to help me feel better. And it does a great job majority of the time (L)

Somethingsacred, Madmax is still out with illness. It’s been about a month. He misses everyone here - you know how passionate he is about kratom and the forum! He’s simply too exhausted and unwell to post as yet. I get word most every day. Some of his health issues are stress related, so I assured him that we miss him and only want him to post when he’s feeling well!

Poor guy already had a waiting list/backlog/queue for reviews!

I’ll be sure to pass on your loving inquiry(s)!
