I'll second Brandon on the Hirsuta and Javanica. Stem in vein is good, but short, it's still mitragynine and hitting the same receptors as kratom. Depending on why you take kratom, you could also use other botanicals to achieve affects (i.e. akummma, blue lotus, magnolia bark, valerian root, kanna, kava, etc..) Each is kind of a one trick pony on effects though, so again, I think Brandon is spot on, Javanica and Hirsuta have the closest composite effects, while not hitting the same receptors.

Chickie wrote: Hello Kratom Lovers! I have been using Kratom for a year and a half for Fibro pain. It has been the only thing that has helped me and I am very grateful I found this medicinal plant.
I am wondering how long does one have to go completely off of it to "start over" I have recently been using large amounts and I feel like I need to quit for awhile. But I am afraid to because my pain levels have been through the roof.
Any advice?

Hello & Welcome to ILK Chickie.

I would suggest Stem & Vein like the others have. I would also Recommend taking Incarvillea Sinensis 20:1 Extract for the Pain as well. Incarvillea is the best Herb that I have tried for Pain in my Life. It works better than Kratom for Pain in my opinion but everybody is going to get different results.

The Stem & Vein is not going to help with the Pain as much as the Leaf is because of the Alkaloid Differences. You can also try taking Mitragyna Hirsuta or Mitragyna Javanica as an Alternative to Kratom but they are not going to be as strong. They are both just Alternatives to Kratom.

So I would suggest cutting down your doses slowly while adding in Stem & Vein as a Filler. Then you will slowly be lowering your Dose & as you add Stem & Vein to Replace the Leaf then you will eventually be Taking All Stem & Vein. Then you will be giving your Body a Reset from the Alkaloids from the Leaf. Just some suggestions.

Too many links to pick just a few.

In a few words, it's the stem that held the Kratom leaf, and what's left of the leaf after they remove most of it for processing.

I've heard that it averages around 30% leaf residue, and the rest being the stem, all of which gets ground up in a special process that goes to making it the most effective. Part of that being, imo, that it has a prolonged absorption, so it lasts longer while being less intense.

I personally have had great effects with stem and vein. my doses were 2 to 3 grams. I find it to be just a little stronger ( or different ) than most leaf. its different alkaloids or ' active ingredients' that make it work well with a reset.

BUT... what you can do is use it to taper like nan said. alternate it. see what works for you. I work long hours on my feet and I typically don't take regular leaf too often on my days off. was hoping that would help my tolerance but it really didn't. just my own personal experiences. I say find what works for YOU. everyones different.

but like babel said fused flora is great at sample ounces really reasonable. sign up for anyones email list, then you are the fist to know when they have specials. and many approved vendors give us a discount. or a rewards program. sometimes even both! I have myself signed up for places I haven't even tried their kratom. sometimes an email for a free product if you buy ect.. is just the motivation I need at times.

Thanks for your help!
What is the difference between regular and stem and vein?
Is it less potent?

Currently Otie's and Fused Flora have the best prices that I'm aware of for stem and vein, but of those two I've only used Otie's. Tea Time and Soflo have what look like the "purest" selection and grind of stem and vein, though Otie's is good. I have both of theirs, and Soflo's S&V looks identical to Tea Time's White S&V. Tea Time offers Red, White, and Green, S&V.

hey chickee!

yes great advices. I personally did go through a full reset and it was easier than I expected. BUT I was working part time at best if any so it was a planned break.

stem and vein did wonders. tea time botanicals, kratom eye, oties and soflo all have amazing types. tea time you pick the color, oties and kratom eye its a blend. oties you can even get it in a split key. after the ILK discount its super reasonable for great potent product. soflo its a energetic green.

no one can truly tell you what you 'need' I held off as much as I could. my doses were getting close to 10g at times. the average ive been told is 2-3 weeks. akuammma, incarvellia, white willow bark, and corydalis or skullcap for PM are my pain management drugs of choice. all you can get at insense/ gold leaf for a steal after 15% off. ilkforme15% is the code.

good luck keep us updated.
