Thank you Laurie for asking, I was scheduled for Dec.19, I rescheduled for January 21, It is for a macular hole, they fill with gel. I would have to stay with my head down after surgery for 3 days and I didn't think I could go christmas shopping with my head down, lol...Dr. said the anesthesia is similar to the one they give for a colonoscopy. Thank you again, wishing you a happy holiday..I will think about the kratom before January 21, any advice will be appreciated. Golda55

The reason he gave me after was that because my condition was so bad that he expected to see an ulcer or polyps. Whilst doing the partial. So when he didnt see any he decided to keep going without asking me.

Ended up hospitalized for the c-diff 4 times. From 4 to 10 days. Each time more IV antibiotics. Last time they had 4 very strong IV antibiotics running. had my dr, specialists standing around saying we never seen a case this bad and dont understand why you are not responding to tx.

Had to deal with IBS since i was a child. So having 10 to 20 pure liquid bowel movements a day wasnt even the worst part. The toxic smell that just spreads everywhere is horrible. You can tell a pt that has cdiff just by the smell.
The worst part was the abdominal pain. In the hospital i was getting IV hydromorphone. Since i was clean for 10 yrs the first shot of that was bad news.
When i got home and was put on the oral version i wondered why i wasnt getting the same feeling of relief.
So i looked up the bioavaility and seen that oral you are only getting 20 %. Intranasal is 50% and tastes just like heroin. Then off course i moved up to IV them which is 100%. Took them when i was suppose to and never ran the script short.
problem was the ROA i decided to use almost ruined my marriage. wife was not happy at all when she found out what i was doing.
after over a yr of suffering i finally had a fecal transplant. which was successful. if that didnt work i have no idea how i would continue to live.

this was before i knew about kratom and had to use suboxone to get off the hydomorphone. Pills have a short half life, are 4 x's stronger then heroin, and very difficult to try and wean off.

And luckily the kratom works for my IBS>

I had 5 colonoscopies when i had c-diff colitis a few yrs back. The actual prep the few days before was worst then the colonoscopy. Anytime they put that NPO sign in my hospital room I hated it. I love to eat and drink liquid. Drinking the golytely is annoying cause there is some much of it and tasted very salty to me. I found drinking flavored magnesium with some dulcolax was much better for the prep.
4 of them they used propofol and it worked great.
The last one I was unaware of while i was in the hospital. They prepped me for it and took me one morning. Supposedly it was just suppose to be some type of partial scope. So i wasnt given any anesthetic or anything for pain.
Once the dr started he ended doing a full scope. felt like i was prison raped and wanted to kill the dr. and you get to watch the monitor and see whats going on. Good times!

You normally don't receive"pain medication" for colonoscopies. You don't need it. Propofol is the main anesthetic for EGD and Colonoscopy which is not an analgesic. I normally only give lidocaine and propofol for colonoscopies.
