With the Kratom you put a mouth full of water in your mouth then have a 1/2 teaspoon of kratom and put it in as you tilt your head back then do it again.. wait 20 min's then redo it till your feeling good but space it out.. If you do not it will get you sick... the link I posted of the poppy seeds is where I felt where the best I tried. do the above with them in between the kratom .
learn to drink it will add to the effects or take the bad effects away of the opiates. Do a search of poppy seeds there are a few pain killing chemicals in them and on the outside of them. Not much but they do...

Thanks, I don't drink alcohol however.

I always thought poppy seeds were a waste of time? They really help?

14 grams of kratom at once? I may vomit. Yikes.

You see, either way, I need one or the other, opiates or kratom for pain. I am not trying to get opiates out of my life because I am just taking recreationally...I take them for chronic pain. Only things I have found to suppress the pain and give me my life back has been opiate medication and Kratom.

Where do the poppy seeds fit in to this?

Which poppy seeds to order, California, Asian, etc?

Poppy seeds (unwashed ) and Kratom (14 + grams (red strains) ) Spoon in the poppy seeds like the kratom 1 teaspoon at a time like 4 during the day/night.. Drink some vodka to kick in the 1/2 life of the Opiates to ease yourself off for a few days with keeping with the kratom & poppy seeds for a week. You should be detoxed from the opiates by then... Good luck man !! then use the kratom as needed... I drink wine when I do my kratom now but was on poppy seeds and vodka & kratom for a time. That what I did to get off my run of opiates. You might find some very helpful Info. On this link. poppyseeddreams.com/content/7-poppyseed-harvest

Hi all,

I have been 100% back on opiates, specifically Nucynta which is tapendatol.
I don't know if I can do it, I always feel healthier when I am taking kratom for pain. I feel more in the moment and more in control. I ordered more Kratom and am going to give this another try. I have to.

I am starting to notice I need more of the tapendatol to get the same pain relief.

Not sure what to do because mentioning Kratom to my primary doctor or pain doctor never goes well. I am afraid of stopping all of the pain medications and then having nothing to fall back on. I would probably end up stop seeing my doctor if I went to Kratom full time. It is expensive though but I wouldn't be spending anything on pain meds.

I want what us best for me, my life, my wife and daughter. I don't find that others in my life are as big on Kratom as myself and seem that some would rather I stick to the doctor's plan.

I am so sick of my life being a mess from this hronic pain. Now people in my life are questioning the source of the pain, which can actually make things worse and more stressful. Been down that road.

The roughest part of making a switch to Kratom from opiate meds is the insomnia and lack of energy. What makes it worse, is that I have always been so into physical fitness and not having any energy to work out or even get to the gym. Plus it is in the 90s and humid and I am not walking or anything outside.

Things will get better guitarguy, I promise you! I've had terrible insomnia since I went to detox in Jan. 2012 for benzos and opiates. It's even more pronounced since I had the stroke last September. The one thing I've learned that has helped me is I don't even fight the insomnia anymore. I just go with it. If I can't sleep, I get up and put some coffee on, and go about my business. The best thing I find is to stay busy. Eventually I get some sleep, even if it's at odd hours. Have you tried anything to help bring along sleep, like Phenibut, Kava or Melatonin?

Thanks,

Honestly I wish I just could go to sleep and not wake up tomorrow. I envy people who get a restful night of sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and then having a great day my days and night just blend into one living hell on earth. Let's see right now it is another 3 consecutive days without a wink of sleep. I am in pain, throbbing, deep aching pain as if my bones are boiling and unable to sleep, I sit and stare at the TV, try to eat, search the Internet. If and when I do fall a sleep, I often wish that it was for good. Waking up is a hellish experience. I think to myself. ...not another day in hell. Please I hope I can find the a way to fight through the day. Then, if I am lucky, and have had some sleep, I will go to the gym and workout, because I have no idea when I will get exercise again, let alone sleep or eat right. The days of eating well, hitting the gtm 4 or 5 days a week and enjoying a nice sunny day are long behind me. Nothing remains but misery.

We don't really know how Kratom works yet, but we do suspect some play as a Mu-opioid antagonist. I know that Opioid induced constipation is linked with the Mu-opioid receptors in the brain, which slow down certain parts of the digestive system, while speeding up other parts of it. There is your link. It doesn't shut it down though, it slows it down. There is medication (prescription) that can fix this. If Kratom also does this to you, I would assume it might have more to do with the mu-opioid receptors than the other opioid receptors.

Maybe you should look into more delta action, and kappa play and less Mu play, which is what I think Kratom works on...I think. I don't really know, this is all supposition. There is some other ones out there too (receptors). I don't know much about it. Certain medications affect certain parts more than others, that is why they have different effects. Take Fentanyl for instance. It's more sedating, and they prefer to use it on cancer patients as it makes people not want to move as much, as opposed to something like Hydrocodone.

I would say speak with a pain specialist, but I would suspect that they don't know too much, as they simply hand out lists, but it might be worth a shot; and write a couple of scientists or PhD's at a university that specializes in R&D, such as Ole Miss (that's where I wanted to go to school when I finished at OSU Pre-pharmacy, which I didn't...). Get a hold of the Natural Medicine department, formerly known as "Pharmacognosy".

Just...don't take no for an answer. If you do write, make it sound like you're doing research. DO NOT ask for medical advice.

Give it some time, write lots of people, and if that doesn't help, write me. I can give you a few more options for research, and maybe some other ways to approach this.

I would not compare Kratom to synthetic, semi-synthetic and natural opiates and opioids. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Even Brocolli plays on the Mu-opioid parts of the brain...if I'm not mistaken, that doesn't mean it's a legal high, and of course, Kratom is nothing like the opioid pain medication that a person can get prescribed to them in the U.S. Please, I want to make this distinction extremely clear for all my readers.

Kratom and Opioids are not the same thing, but I do suspect some similarities on the way they work in the brain, but only to a limited degree.

Hi...

My doc says that somw meds shut down the process mostly morphine, I have no issues with Nucynta. For Morphine, they offer some form of injection that for whatever reason is able to allow you to function normally and not have constipation. However, I am fine with Nucynta which is tapendatol.

I started having constipation with kratom and only fix was to stop consuming it. However this constipation started around when I began some new strains like green Malaysia and one or two others. Could this be strain or vendor dependent?

Thanks.
