its all a matter of perspective right? I hope your situations change for the better lacie. and yes please take care of youself. I hope your mom gets out of the funk too. but we all have been there for many reasons.

I personally am not bothering with the BRACA test. I already know im screwed! a couple ovarian and uterine polyps removed. negative. whatever. toungue lesion cut out prompted me to quit smoking/ nicotine all together. even if you test positive they just do a hystorectomy/ mascectomy. ( sorry not gonna look! not one I wanna spellcheck! ) I just keep up on my tests and appointments. and honestly, im ready to pick out a new set! lol....but its just something you will stress yourself about!

kratom and botanicals has helped me catapult my lifestyle in a better direction. I 'feel' better. eat cleaner ( most of the time ) and rarely take any over the counter pain meds. I used to gobble nsaids like they were candy..ive been taking a boswellia complex too and incorporate essential oils ( food grade ) to my kratom morning drink. helped me shed the weight I gained when I quit smoking. I wont be wearing a bikini any time soon, but hey not bad for a chef!

yeah my mom went through a lot. chemo, radiation, many surgeries. shes got an ostomy bag which isn't a good combo with her memory issues/ awareness. my little sis lives with her but its her turn. long story! we are more like 2 only children. im 10 yrs older. kid I never had to have!

anyways im so rambling about me. im glad you are able to open up and let it go. looks like serendipity on your timing.. .

Oops. I have NO idea why I did that. What I wanted to say Don is that I hope you're married 71 years too. They don't have a perfect marriage-but who does? I wouldn't have stayed married to either one,but they fit each other. Mom has an uncle whose still alive at 102. He's in great shape.Unfortunately, his wife passed in June at 100. They' were married 83 years!! Theirs was close to a perfect marriage. I need to call and see how he's doing. He's still quite with it. Thanks for your kind words

Wow. Just wow. I'm so deeply touched that you all took your time to post such caring and kind words. I'm so grateful to be here with you. It feels like I'm being hugged with a warm blanket on a cold night. Thank you all so much. Means the world to me. It brought tears to my eyes and they won't stop. Guess I need to get it out. He's rarely awake now and barely eats. I'm praying he makes it past Christmas and at least into Jan. My sisters birthday is the 27th.

Mom was in bed for 9 days including Thanksgiving. Our dinners still in the freezer. She did have symptoms of the stomach flu but I believe it was emotionally. Right now she's on the couch.Says that she's nauseous and exhausted.

Brandon-thank you for the kind words and the reminder to take care of myself. It's a bit tough right now. I've no appetite but am keeping hydrated. You're right about doing what you have to. I have a feeling mom's going to be in bed for awhile.

Michelle- so happy for you that your mom's survived. sis went through 3 rounds of chemo. When they failed she was given the last-ditch med.for Breast and Ovarian called Lynparza. She did well for 2 months and her numbers were great. Then she had a bowel perforation. She had 3 surgeries. Sometime during the last one she had a stroke. That was March 3 and she passed July 31.

I'm thinking of using 23 and me for the genetic testing they do. The genes for breast and ovary are BRCA 1 and 2. They also test for Alzheimer's. But what do I do if I have the BRCA's? If so I have a 44% chance of developing the disease. Not sure if I want to know if I have the Alzheimers gene. I too ordered Black Bali yesterday. Couldn't find the 'Dark Bent'.

Laurie-I'm sorry about your sister. Suicide's a hard one to deal with. I wouldn't know whether I'd be mad, sad, but probably both at once. Like yours, my ex is a turd. capital T. Your mom reminds me of mine in many ways.Mine has no self esteem or confidence in herself. I fully expect her to not only go off the deep end. No way will she be the same. I won't be a bit surprised if she passes soon after. I do pray she won't. mom and I were estranged for many years. Not long after I got here we did talk. she said it wasn't me,that it had never been me. My folks used me a pawn and really disagreed about parenting me. I was an undiagnosed ADHD kid and she undiagnosed bi polar. Her and my sis saw my symptoms as something I did on purpose. Said I was lazy and just didn't try. I can truly understand how my behaviors could make it look like they were right. But to dad I was perfect and could do no wrong.

Along with the 8 1/2 cats I have a dog Sandi. She was a rescue and had been abused and neglected. I call her my barnacle because she won't let me out of her sight. She's a Boston Terrier/Australian Shepard/Border Collie mix. I know this because I had her DNA done.
Lastly, did you like Adrafinil? I just ordered some.

Don-

Don,

You’re a sweetheart! I’ve grieved well and thoroughly, and these things help to shape who I am now.

I’m actually doing VERY WELL considering that the holidays and rain effect me a lot. These dog sitting gigs are therapeutic FOR SURE.

Nan70 is the one I’m thinking of - my wounds are scars now, but she has fresh wounds. Hope you’re doing well, sweet Nan70!

Wow, these last posts really tug at my compassion strings. >:D :x

Lacie,>:D
My prayers and hugs go out to you during these hard times that must feel never ending. >:D >:D >:D >:D
Do as Brandon suggested and don't neglect to take care of yourself also.
To be married for 71 years is amazing. If my wife and I live that long, and she can stand me till then, we will be in our 90s to make it to 71 years married. We have 30 more years to go and your parents give me hope that we can get there. :-bd
You prefer animals to people. We have another Cat lady in the family here. Her name is Catspaw1955 and she has 5 cats. =D>

I prefer babies and toddlers to adults. They laugh at my jokes. :woohoo: Or maybe they're laughing at my funny looking face? :-?

Laurie,
That is heartbreaking about your sister. I pray for an infinite number of >:D to come your way to ease the pain that it has caused in yours and your mom's lives. >:D >:D >:D .....................

Maybe your new Big Dog felt your pain and that is why he was hogging the bed. Actually just wanted to be close to comfort you. >:D
My Grandkids say I’m a cuckoo head. ;)

My apologies for the typos above. This forum kept timing out and Apple updated everything so it is no easy task to “SELECT ALL” and “Copy” and “paste” any longer.

They still won’t add “kratom” or “constipation” to the acceptable words yet, either.

Progress in these times is a huge disappointment from what it meant in the 90’s!

Yes, I’m proud to be 55! Hopefully I can do these dog sitting gigs for many years to come. 2020 is already filling the calendar! :o

Thank you for sharing your life with us, Lacie J!
