Username Gumbyke1 is the family who string dries home grown (couldn’t have found it without that hint, Petunia!).

We both recommend you private message that user if they don’t see this post because they might have solid advice for you! Please post the discussion as much as you can after you get their attention because lots of people are attempting home grown and the learning opportunity is cool for EVERYONE on ILK.

im only 6 mo in in taking the leaf. finally navigating well and not getting caught off guard. I know nothing of what to do with actual leaves and that process. I think its gumbyoke or something similar its a couple that produce their own string dried leaf, they are in one of the threads maybe ask them? I bet if you search string dried you can find them. super sweet knowledgeable couple.

I wish I had some ideas for you but that was the whole reason I started this thread. I have copious amounts of stuff that I don't know what to do with.

I have quite a bit of leaf that came off of a tree local to me that isn’t completely mature yet, so the mitra content is quite low. I’m not sure what to do with all this leaf. I made some extract and I’ve taken up to 2g at a time with little effect. I made some tea that had a very mild effect. It is all either crushed leaf or whole leaf. I just grinded a couple ounces to powder this weekend and haven’t tried that method yet, but I’m not expecting much. Heck, maybe I’ll just make lots of tea, I kind of like it’s earthy taste.

Any ideas?

So far Red Kali from Insense will be going into my no fly pile. I've tried it all the way up to 3gm and it only makes me tired but doesn't help with pain or headaches.

When I find a sedating red strain, the effects are numbing and almost at like a depressant, I find they remind me of muscle relaxants which never helped much with my pain. I never really liked bentuangies generally the most sedating type strains. I tried going lower in dose to stay away the sedating properties and found that I can remove it from my no fly pile to my moderate pain pile. I do not use them as often but it helps with rotation.

That's great! So is the final product better than either of the combined strains alone or are you just making bad kratom marginally good in order to get rid of it?
I would be too scared to waste my good kratom.

I have 2 favorites that I have success blending with ANYTHING and it seems to turn out good. My yellow thai makes my junk kratom good, 2 grams junk plus 1 gram good stuff makes a decent dose if I'm low on good stuff or trying to use up junk.

Skisouthtahoe wrote: Good question, I don’t think so,I always go back to my usual blend of red/green MD, so the ugly ducklings stay in my dusty green powdered closet, lol. It might be the tastes I don’t like, I’m not sure. It’s a good thought though, just to use them up I might try blending them.

The idea is that good kratom is good not simply because of the Mitra content. I've had high Mitra extract before and it did nothing for me. Matter of fact I've never had success with extracts.
So what makes a good kratom is the entourage effect, getting the right blend of stuff. So I would think some bad kratom might be missing just a couple ingredients that might be filled in by another.
Surely someone has accomplished this, if only through dumb luck.
