Anyway, as far as the difference in smell, the proposed hypotheses just don't make sense to me. I don't know why the further pulverizing into a powder would release elements that are not smelled in the crushed leaves. As an example, I use coffee beans, which apparently are related to kratom.
Coffee beans smell like coffee. Ground coffee smells like coffee. Brewed coffee smells like coffee.
Maybe you guys are right that there are additional components released with the further grinding, but it just doesn't make sense to me. Just my $.02, not trying to pick a fight.

roberts wrote: Hi, I've been scouring the internet and can't find any information on crushed leaf that sounds reliable. I've been watching ilovekratom for a while but have never posted. I'm experienced with t&w powdered kratom but not with crushed leaf. I bought a kilo of Red Vein Remahan crushed leaf from a reliable vendor and it doesn't smell at all like powdered kratom.
Is this typical? I'm having visions of it being swept up from some dirty floor or something. Also, if anyone has good advice on making tea with it, I'd be grateful. There is a lot of conflicting info on making tea. I'm attaching a photo if that helps. Thanks!
