I have been able to avoid tolerance issues so far, 2 1/2 years without a break but I was only on a twice a day schedule. 1.7 grams Greens for energy and pain relief for my work day,((I have no work right now, I can manage most days through my pain w/o the day dose) At night I switch to red strains, I need 2.4 grams. I actively take turmeric for inflammation I think I take 2 up to 4 grams daily(with black pepper) and ginger.
Akuuama I needed to take 2 grams to have results and it did make me a little tired.
I used other herbs like akuuama to keep my kratom dose to only twice a day. Worth mentioning I used Rhodiola Rosea in the afternoon at times it helped with energy and mental clarity, it didn't help very well with pain but it it helped with my mental state to manage breakthrough pain between kratom doses. I was taking 1000 mg.

For me avoiding tolerance it could very well be the turmeric and I actively rotate strains daily, most are also from a few different vendors.

I think no one mentioned it yet but make sure you are not having digestion issues(like constipation or too low fiber in the diet) Digestion issues could prevent proper absorption of the alkaloids in kratom.

you have great suggestion going on here (hi everyone) I hope this works well for you.

hey pat,

great choice! the powder is worse if you ask me. super bitter. its safe to take with kratom as well. 2-4g is a standard dose. I probably use it more often than kratom. its not as potent(to me) but its good for taking the edge off and if you ask me, safer than acedomediphine

Just read about akuamma on this forum so I ordered a few capsule to try it out.

I am assuming people take this in lieu of kratom to get a break and help with tolerance.

The capsules are 600mg each so I would assume just start out with a few. I assume it taste as nasty as kratom so I went with the capsule since my starting dose will be low.

Will be be interesting to compare with kratom.

Pat

trust me, we hear ya buckley! id say to truly try akuamma, and maybe Incarvillea with it with stem and vein if pain relief is what you are after.

I have osteoarthritis and some days are rough, especially on my feet at work. boswellia helped me one of the most as well. as a daily supplement.

but yes, this is why we are here. keep up on each other and help new folks navigate. ive only been taking kratom for a year and a half, but this forum helped me so much on education. people being awesome here doesn't hurt!

Thank you michele373 for your sharing, this helps .I just heard abot some people taking Agmatine to help with the tolerance to.
I well proably take a break from it here just to try a reset, going to do a week to 10 days to see how that works, and to know i can to.
I keep my dosing to at the max 12 to 15 grams a day and it still works good for me,i am just trying to beat the rabit to the hole sorta speaking.
Thanks for the advice on the gaba and magnolia. as I do like the effects i get from kratom for that as I have been in pain for so long some times its hard to find the happy place.

hey buckley!

very tricky question/ answer as everyone is different. but I can tell you my methods.

my fist week taking kratom I found my sweet spot was 4-6g per dose. which is a little high for most, but I was on tramadol and a liver killing amount of nsaids. my sweet spot kept increasing and smaller doses didn't seem to work at all really no matter how much I tried to taper. next thing I knew I was taking 8-10g per dose and knew I had to do something. and that's with taking 2 days off on average. so I had a planned complete reset for January. I took only stem and vein and herbals for pain ( combo of most- boswellia, akuamma, Incarvillea, white willow bark, shilajit, and either corydalis or skullcap for night )

I got different stem and vein from a few different companies, so that stays fresh as well. I knew I wasn't going to be working during this time so I knew I could do it. I lasted on my complete reset for 28 days. actually easier than I thought. now my levels are still 2-3 g on average per dose. which is much easier on the wallet! but thanks to this virus im really not working much either. we are open and some of the guys are working part time, but my boss knows its not productive to pull everyone off unemployment. im making as much take home right now like a 50 hr work week ( my average right now if I was working ) so its nice to get paid without having to put in the grunt work. don't get me wrong I cant wait to get back, I do like my job.

my advice to you is keep an eye on how much you take from whom. which it sounds like you already are. if you do take kratom for pain, I highly recommend akuamma. I haven't taken any nsaids in over a year. maybe get some stem and vein or hirtusa and blend it with your dose. or even tapering/ cutting back on doses is effective for many. if you use kratom for mood boost there are plenty of other herbals for that as well. im a big fan of gaba and magnolia.

many approved vendors have all of these. in sense/ gold leaf is a go to of mine for herbals, and kratom. fused flora has a great selection too. organic elements has pre-capped akuamma and other great options. meridian botanicals has a crazy list of many herbals. they are very good prices and reasonable shipping too. I didn't even know they had kratom for a while, stumbled upon it. their indigo blend puts me to sleep almost every time. just fyi, their shipping/ processing is super slow. so order from them when you are just stocking up, or don't mind waiting.

I also don't take breaks even i know it would do me good. But i taper. Been anywhere from 4 to 30 gpd in the last 6 months. I think you are taking it for pain and so its different from recreational. Less is more but up to you to choose less days on kratom or less kratom per day, both will lower your tolerance.

Good for you to take care of your tolerance Buckey :)

Hi Buckey,

There are many who have a day or two of no kratom every week ... I’ve personally have only taken two 2 day breaks in 3 years . The amount you take isn’t a huge amount but still, our bodies get adjusted to it and tolerance can still play a role . Aside from taking a break , practice rotating many strains from several vendors , this always seems to help me and many others.

Having a day or two off , or even taking a longer fast from kratom , 1-4 weeks would get you back to having no tolerance issues.

Even though I don’t experience kratom like when I first started taking the leaf , I still get great results and I take approximately 28 gms a day .

Other herbs can help while on a break , hirsuta, javanica, Akuamma, kanna , incarvilea sinensis, corydalis, Chuchuhuasi and more ...

Do some research on these or you the search engine here to read previous chats about there valuable benefits .

Hope you are doing well Buckey , let us know how it goes with taking a break if you decide to take one !

take care (L)
Life is better with kratom !

Been using this plant for over 6 months now, taking on a average 10 to 14 grams in 5 grams doses most days 3 time a day so 3 to 5 grams each time.
So was wondering if I should be taking a breaks from it so I can let my body reset, and keep my tolerance levels down, and how long of a break is a good length for that. 1 day 2days a week ect.
Thanks if anyone can weigh in on it form your experience.
