I search grocery stores, pharmacies, Wal-Mart and haven't found anything. I read red ginseng would be best for simulation. Which kind would I be looking for and where to buy?
I think I would need the liquid. Pills in vitamin bottles never seem to do anything.

I got Panax ginseng extract (the one I was looking for) at a gas station for 99 cents, until I find a better place to buy it. It's 13.8, 8000 mg. The guy at the gas station says I can take it all, but I'm sceptical. There's no way to actually measure out a dosage because you can only get it out by sucking on a straw.

Apparently it's 13.8 alc/vol in a 10ml container

If I'm doing the math right you can take 3 grams a day. The extract is 8000. So a half a bottle would be 4 grams. So a little less then half would be 3. So far no effects.

My recommendations-
Are you near a China Town?
A local Asian produce store.
See if you have the grocery store H-Mart nearby.( nj.hmart.com/ourstores/ )

I like the capsules I got on Amazon. They’re STRONG. Sometimes they are TOO energizing, and some days I hardly notice it. 1000 mg capsules. I sometimes just dump some out of the capsule first to make sure I don’t get overly stimulated (not the goal).
Mine comes from Nutra Champs on Amazon.

How many do you take daily? Are they suppose to be instant energy or over time?

They are similar to the effects of white vein or a trip to Starbucks. I got them for other supposed benefits related to peri-menopause. Which ALSO adds to fatigue. You and I suffer from fatigue quite a bit, so I sympathize, Frogs. Plus we have anxiety! I would recommend you try this herb, Frogs. It reminds me of the ephedra days. Only not as bad. Best taken with food at first. I seem to have built up a tolerance if I use it every day, so it’s not for easy, happy energy every day. A good white vein mixed with a good green might be a good idea for you, since you are not complaining of peri menopause.
That fatigue issue is so under appreciated. Everyone says, “I’m tired, too!”

In much younger years, I used to purchase the honey sticks with ginseng - Asian market variety - sometimes found in small and large health food stores.
Like Laurie, I found ginseng to be a little too stimulating. Panax for sure - too much for my sensitive CNS.
Frogs - have you tried Ashwaghanda? It is known as *Indian ginseng* - not nearly as straight up stimulating per ginseng, but still an adaptogen. It can stimulate if you need, or calm as you need ... much gentler and more subtle than ginseng.
It can be taken daily and long term. May be easier to find in an uncontaminated form too.
It seems that I may have seen ginseng in organic teas? Or, then again, I could be wrong. *wink*
I lived in GA, Frogs - I can appreciate your lack of choice! I found myself wedded to my Amazon Prime membership.
Good luck!

Frogs -
I completely agree with you about pills, etc. I believe that many times lack of effect is due to the fillers.
Good luck!
