I’ll be having my knees replaced In about a month. I’d rather take kratom instead of opiates. That said what’s the best strain for pain relief? Thanks in advance

Red Bentuangi has always been a favorite for people with pain. Red varieties in general are better for pain relief.

Somebody else may have a specific red they like for pain relief that may chime in here also.

I just started a “favorite Red variety” thread, there are some great suggestions in there and what vendors those are from.

Here is that thread:

I'm fairly new to Kratom so take it for what it's worth, but as someone who has moderate chronic back pain,I've found that Red Vietnam and Red Bali are fairly effective at alleviating pain. My pain level may not be as high as yours so I can't guarantee that it will have the same effectiveness on you as it does me,but I've had many people steer me towards the red strains for relaxation and pain relief and these are the only 2 Red strains I've experienced so far but both have helped me significantly, Red Vietnam was slightly stronger.

Red MD, Red Bali & Red Bentuangie are all very good in terms of Pain Relief. It also depends on how the person reacts to each strain. Any Strain is going to have some pain relief especially Red Strains.

Please do not be afraid to take the opiates postoperatively. They provide GOOD pain relief so that you can get mobilized following surgery. Staying active is VERY important for preventing many serious complications that go along with surgery and immobilization.

YOu should NOT need them after 5 days or so...I am not sure how effective Kratom will be for postoperative pain.

As indicated by others Reds are most effective, but I have found Indo Maeng Da also effective for pain relief.
